Disappointing to concede from a corner given the excellent defending in open play. A valiant performance though showing we could rattle Liverpool when we went forward. All in all, the manager, players and fans did the club proud. Thoroughly enjoyable evening... if only Jervis' shot was 6 inches to the right!
Yeah but when you see the effort put in to smother international players for 110 minutes and then consider a Liverpool corner isn't much different to a Stevenage one... Still, extremely creditable overall. When we went behind, we showed we could play a bit too.
Neil Warnock did say that he might be lending Argyle a striker next week.....that surely must be Healey who finished with Newport in early January.
Fecking bollox. There was not much to choose between the premiership and league 2 over 2 legs. They managed one goal in 190 minutes if you count extra time. We were very good tonight. They were lucky it stayed 1 - 0. Mac psyched the pen taker out. Argyle fans can be plenty proud of the players. We put up a more than decent show for league 2. We made a decent amount of pounds from the tie so job done. We want promotion so for me I'm glad we no longer have the distraction. Happy with it all move on.
I tried to pick you out in the crowd Sensible..then it dawned on me that you were the Pilgrim.. Great game to watch really enjoyed it.. What did it feel like to have 1700 there.
I was the one shivering BC. Dressed in green with a green hat and scarf. Surprised if I don't stand out.
I'm with you Sensible, great while it lasted and it should give the players huge confidence as to just how good they can be and what they can achieve. But all eyes on that Champion's trophy now...... My MoM BTW was Bradley, Was held back on the Lucas goal (watch the highlights) but otherwise won everything in the air, including our corners, all of which were hit to him at the back post.
Well done to all involved, a memorable night! Liverpool fans here were looking a bit nervous during the game and relieved when over. Now on to promotion! COYG.
I agree with your MOM notdistant. I thought Bradley was brilliant. We were talking about him after the game and the amount of times this season he has been MOM or nearly. I said that we might have to watch out because on this form he shows he can do it higher than we are and somebody might come in for him. But my son made a good point when he said he has ended up with us because he hasn't done it elsewhere. Sometimes you just click in one club and like Coughlan when he came here it was us. I hope any would be suitors will see it that way too.
Also just to say that I have been wandering off onto the Liverpool Board for the last couple of weeks and have to say they have all been as good humoured and friendly as you might expect. Pleasure to be able to comment on an opposition board and at least get a good reception. I've been on a couple previously and to be honest all they do is look down their nose at a "foreigner" and lowly league 2 club contributor. The supporters who went to Liverpool for round one were impressed with their reception and I have heard nothing but good words about the return visit here. This is how football should be. Banter yes but a bit of respect also. Thumbs up to all
Totally agree sensible. The visit to Anfield was simply outstanding in terms of customer service, friendliness, and simply wanting everyone to have a good time (bearing in mind the last time I was there in the 70s I got badly beaten up-perks of being a (then) Burnley fan). I also think last night was a great advert for Plymouth Argyle. Yes the ticketing arrangements were abysmal, but actually the organisation on the night showed the club in a very professional light. Have read your witterings on the L'pool board, and agree they have been quite welcoming. I did think though that their famous vocal following were v quiet. Win, win for me, given that Liverpool are my Prem team. Obviously I would have preferred Argyle to win, but actually two cracking days out and we are now free to concentrate on what is important.
"witterings" bleddy witterings lyndhurst??????? It takes me hours to think up witty and interesting things to post I'll have you know. No wonder you got a kicking back then.
Get a bleddy job then you slacker. They're looking for people to dig up explosives in Derriford if you're interested.
A moment of weakness there Lindy.....telling us you where a Burnley fan in your youth and a secret Liverpool fan now......the sooner you find a job and settle down again will do you a world of good.
Now's your chance to have a say. http://www.pafc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/feedback-sought-3527481.aspx My feeling is 2 tickets per member not 1....
It seems from the Argyle Chat website that Warnock might be going to offer PAFC a winger....not Healey. A 22 year old Scottish winger who has represented his country through the age groups......Matt Kennedy who is quite a tricky player...whatever that means. It depends on Warnock's transfer dealings this coming week before he is able to release any of his squad on loan....interesting development maybe. Derek Adams has suggested that he is looking for two more players and his waiting for clubs to get back to him.
