We are still in the bottom three. We hyped up our chances vs the Gunners for several days pre-match. We are entering a phase where we have to get the better of other sides fighting for their PL survival. .I think we are on a knife edge. Hopefully Lady Luck will tilt it in our favour.
Am I a pessimist or am I a realist? A bad result against Burnley, our bogey team, could generate cracks across the already thin ice we are tiptoeing on.

Yep and if we get relegated and Silva walks there'll be the same silly ****s who were lauding him calling him a **** and a Judas.

It's a lot harder to stay up than go down right now.

Remaining home games will decide our fate.

    Burnley
    Swansea
    WHam
    Boro
    Watford
    Sunderland
    Spurs

Realistically we need to win 4 of those 7.

I think we've turned the corner and I'm quite optimistic that we will stay up for a number of reasons. Firstly, and most important, we have a Manager who knows what he's doing and inspires the team and has their full support. Secondly our remaining fixtures look to be the "easiest" of our bottom seven rivals, and we have already played most of the top six. And thirdly the team has more options despite the loss of Livermore and Snodgrass, as we have two fast skilful wingers in Markovic and Grosicki, a striker who looks like the best scoring threat we've had in some time in Niasse, and a strong defense with the addition of Ranocchia, the development of Maguire, the reinstatement in goal of by far our best keeper in Jakupovic, and the partnering of N'Diaye and Huddlestone in CMF.

To me this teams recent performances suggest it is more a mid-table team than a relegation candidate. IF we can survive this season, AND keep Silva, next season should be our best yet in the Prem. Of course injuries, bad refs, and weak displays against our relegation rivals could turn this around, but for now I'm OPTIMISTIC!!

I'm happy we got through those 4 games with 4 points with only a -2 goal difference! I'm happy with our fixtures from now on! And I'm also happy that MS has got time to work his squad! It all points to giving us a more then good chance of staying up!

    My concerns are:

    a) who's going to score the goals to keep us up ? Not convinced with Niasse as a finisher.
    b) Jak's kicking from open play - it's going to cost us in some game soon
    c) injuries - we're still light in numbers in the CB position

    I'm pessimistic

No reason really...it's just easier that way

I've supported City too long to assume good things will happen

Better to assume the worst and then even shallow **** is a step in the right direction !

In our two other Premier League relegation seasons, a home defeat by Burnley has been fatal.

This time a home defeat would be damaging and even sickeningly symbolic but not necessarily fatal.

If we lose, then a team that is sure to stay up gets three more points to a total we're unlikely to catch anyway and we scratch off a home game/one opportunity.

We obviously should be aiming to win all of our games, particularly at home, but not lets hit the panic attack should we lose or not win on Saturday week.

But surely it's best to veer violently from assuming we're going to finish in the top ten because we've beaten someone to assuming we're heading straight for League 2 if we lose to someone?
It's the done thing round here

(Apart from me... I just assume we'll get relegated regardless!)

I can't decide whether I'm an optimistic pessimist or an pessimistic optimist ... or indecisive ... maybe?

I do wonder where the goals are going to come from. Im hoping the 2 new wingers will be able to chip in with a few winning goals because I cant see Niasse scoring too many.

Let's be honest.. we are all optimistic.

But we haven't really become a wonder team.

It's still a problem getting goals. We have one fit striker!

    It's a task...

I'm more optimistic than I was, but I'll need a couple more games to be sure that the Fulham performance was a one off.
