There's certainly a case for doubt. It needs someone on the inside to spill the beans, but will they be able to find a suitable whistle blower?

To be honest, I've forgotten how you turn the swear-blocker on and off, anyone else?

If you hover over your user name toward the top right of the page, and then select 'preferences' from the table of options. Scroll down the page and put a tick in the box next to "Enable Profanity Contents" and then save changes using the button at the bottom. <ok>

Except that the decision to give Gibbs only a yellow card cannot possibly just come under the heading of the referee having 'a bad game'. Clattenburg had a clear view of it and under the current laws of the game it was probably one of the most obvious red cards that you'd ever wish to see. It can only be explained away as obvious bias, because if he says that he didn't see it as a red then he either a) doesn't know the laws of the game b) has terrible ****ing eyesight, or c) knew he was ****ing off to Saudi and is as bent as a nine bob note. In this instance I'd choose 'C' every day of the week.

Last figure I saw was that over 25,000 Brits were working in Saudi mainly in the oil industry. Pensioner numbers are around 15o.

About 5000 Aussies work in Saudi. A mate at my old company Orica( previously ICI Aus) now works there in the plastics industry but will retire back to Aus next year.

I'd agree with LBA. It had to be definitely "C". Clattenburg has generally interpreted the laws of the game as well as any referee in the game. He KNEW it was a clear Red Card offense. Why did he ignore it. His departure for Saudi within days surely explains why. I won't spell it out for legal reasons...even though I'm 6000 miles away. But I'll just quote LBA...he "is as bent as a nine bob note". Tragic really. He was once a world class ref. Will he be put in charge of the really big international games in future????? The answer to that will say a lot about the level of corruption in the games governing bodies. The whole situation stinks

So, he had a shocker last Saturday, sadly at our expense, he made errors, its bound to happen from time to time. He does not have the benefit of all the gizmos and technological assistance afforded to the clever dick commentators and match reviewers, his decisions have to be made on the spot and immediately. We have perhaps now lost one of the best of a not particularly inspiring bunch.

He bottled it, but the claim that he did so because he was bent is ridiculous and should join the rest of the nonsense of the Conspiracy Theory thread.

So you're saying Arsenal bribed him? That's quite a claim!

His linesman should have spotted the handball full stop. Clattenburg should also have been better positioned to be able to see what was going on in the box. Poor all around.

The rule for handball needs clearly defining.

Goals scored with the hand accidental or not should not be allowed. The end.

In the same way a defending player is penalised for handball - terrible rule.

This is a rule that may require 4th official intervention - only takes a second for a review. These incorrect decisions can be the difference between staying up and relegation.

I'm sure you stated in a previous post the Gibbs decision was 50/50? Nothing wrong with that or even to change your mind. I have many times looking at it. Point I'm making is he had a second to make the decision and had to stick with it.

I thought it was definitely a straight red and he bottled it, I just don't believe for a second that he was bunged to do so, it's a ridiculous assertion.

I actually agree, but have no doubt if Maguire had done the same on Sanchez then it would have been a straight red.

I cant be bothered to look but I'm sure you said something like
Sanchez decision wrong, Clucas correct, Gibbs 50/50?
Not been pedantic for the sake of it but trying to show that apart from us all having different opinions, we can all change our minds even though we are as biased as **** on here.
