    What could possibly go wrong.

    (add comments)

After Saturday it's tempting to repeat the post in the hope that superstition would repeat the result. However, life aint that simple is it.

There are a number of factors with this game. Firstly the form book. Blackpool have only lost once, to Portsmouth, in the last 10 games. We have lost 3. But, in their run of results they have drawn 7 times and only actually won 2 of the 10. We have only drawn 2 and won the other 5 so points taken we have won 4 more points than them. Conclusion is............well not a lot really except they seem hard to beat. The next thing is this is yet another Tuesday night game. The not won since September 2015 remains after the last effort a week ago. So hard to beat and we have a hex on Tuesday nights at Home Park. Finally there are not one but two ex Argyle players in opposition shirts. Both score goals even if one of them is meant to be a fullback. Odds on at least one of them scoring please.....

The team appeared to respond to the criticism on Saturday and produced a very good performance and extended the gap a tad over the pack. Also closed the gap on Donnie which is the least important of the two currently. Which team is going to turn up this time? I would hope the confidence after Saturday would be sky high and the iffy results we have been getting are in the past. We should win this but I'm not going to crow just yet.

Nearly forgot one important point for exiles and especially BC who has to set his alarm clock to pre-dawn for games. THIS MATCH IS A 7-30 REPEAT 7-30 KICK OFF.

Apparently the dark green shirts are the problem under lights. I prefer the away kit anyway...

That's why they wore white socks Saturday........green kit, green grass, green seats....all to much green apparently......all to much camouflage....now you see me...now you don't.....does it mean that if we wore luminous yellow we would win 7-0 every time.

It's the wrong green if it's meant to be traditional anyway. Should be a lighter shade. I sincerely hope there isn't a move to change from green altogether. It would be like the Cardiff debacle. The bluebirds wearing red. We are the greens and that's that.

And another Tuesday night fiasco. Why Songs'o when we have Bulvitas, who performed well with Bradley early in the season?

The only thing that's consistent is your inconsistency! Three home games on the bounce should have seen the Argyle topping the table now.

Instead the manager is concerned about changing the kit instead of changing formations.

Let's hope you can get enough points in the coming weeks to get over the finishing line.

Been reading comments about tonights game....so depressing, how can they play like this days after beating Carlisle.....no goal threat at all and no reliable defence tonight.

Just listened to the GoS goals and final whistle reports.....they where literally speechless.....they had nothing really to say other than being gob smacked at such a lifeless display.

No it was worse than that. We did not compete at any level tonight. We looked like a relegation side rather than a side trying to go top. Adams needs to sort this out and soon. I don't know what is the problem but he is paid to. I cannot understand why for example he had the team in training on Sunday. We are at the ass end of the season not the start. They looked like they had just come off a marathon run before kick off. Truely shocking. I will await the spin Adams puts on this because I don't think many will wear excuses. I have never seen so many people leave with so long to go before tonight.

For me here it was a 11.30am kick ok.....when they scored the 3rd goal i went out and shoveled snow which was much more rewarding.

Having got up after a good nights sleep....it all suddenly came flooding back that Argyle had under performed the night before....to the extent that many had thought was their worst performance of the season....and there have been far to many of those.... and all at home.

How can a whole team play so well against a promotion rival on Saturday.....and then be so out of sorts only three days later....Derek Adams says that he cannot understand it.....so we're in good company there then.......there also seems to be a thing about playing home mid-week matches.....the statistics over the last few years seems to confirm that.......but hold on, hardly any of these players where here over that period.

What I find worrying in hindsight is that Adams doesn't seem to have a clue regarding how to change that fact. There does seem to be an element of desperation creeping into his reasoning now.......a change of playing strip....so the players can see each other better has been tried.....I thought at the time that yes that might help......but it has been proved that that isn't the answer.......when you think about it in the cold light of day.....you wonder if that doesn't also help the opposition to see you better as well !

Most teams would be concerned that they have only eleven games to play....and only four of those are at home......in our case that might be our salvation....weird but true.....four of those are against Mansfield, Portsmouth, Wycombe W and Doncaster so on paper not easy....but who can fathom out what this Argyle team will do.....what we do know is that we cannot always depend on our promotion rivals to cock it up every week.....it only needs two of them to start being more consistent to join Doncaster in the automatic promotion spots....pushing us into the play-offs......and I don't fancy betting on us getting to Wembley and winning.....there is always the dread of losing to Exeter in those play-offs as well......oh please don't let that happen.
