We move on to the next game. We still have a great chance to get out of this so lets not talk ourselves into relegation. It hasn't happened yet. So until we are official down, lets all stay optimistic.

Agreed <ok> Grosiki is really **** though, so it would be for the best if we didn't play him.

Agree. Most of the referees are crap and we do seem to be getting the rough end of some dubious decisions. It seemed to me Everton players just needed to fall over to 'win' a free kick in the first half. We are having a tough enough time trying to do it with 11 men but ****ing hell it gets me mad when ****er after ****er (sorry referee after referee) makes it even harder.

Always the same at Goodison. It'll be the same at Stoke and Palace like every year.

Just watched MOTD... I don't think we have an earthly of getting the red overturned.

Benefit of the doubt will fall on the side of the referee. Not clear cut enough to appeal.

Koeman's interview was full of class, for what it's worth.

At the game I thought it was a terrible challenge, having seen the replay i still think it was a terrible challenge. He was over the top of the ball and caught Gana with a straight leg. Was it a red? Meh, maybe a yellow would have sufficed and a red might have been a bit harsh, but it's one of those that one week you see given and the next you won't, so I agree that you'll struggle to get that over turned. Koeman might have helped you though.

Decent game until the red, you never really looked like scoring though, aside from when Williams ****ed up with the backpass. Once we went to 3 at the back we took you to bits late on. Good luck for the rest of the season <ok>

Oh and if the lad who decided to leave the ground with his top off exposing his spotty back and giving it the biggun as he walked back to the buses is reading this, hahahaha you ****ing weapon <laugh>

I think if we look at it this way, if the ref had missed it would Huddlestone be facing a ban?

I would say it wouldn't even have made it onto the MOTD highlights if it wasn't a red card.

I think that tells us all we need to know.

    Well said.
Everton are a good team in great form. They deserved the points yesterday, but we were still in it and looked capable of snatching a point until Hudd got sent off.

Wouldn't it have been great if Clucas's chance had fallen to an allowed to play Niasse, the only player we have who seems capable under one on one situations.

Some thoughts from yesterday's game, for what it's worth.

For 70 minutes I thought we played some decent stuff. We didn't buckle after the early goal and we looked to create some problems for Everton. However, that final pass was sometimes lacking, and when chances did come our way, we lacked the skills and precision to finish them. I do feel though that with two strikers on the pitch and having similar chances fall to someone like Niasse, we'll manage to score more than we miss. It sadly is a common theme which runs through several of our away games this season.

I thought Huddlestone's red was harsh. The challenge wasn't great and certainly wasn't well-timed and, from the replays, I can't see an appeal being successful. However, the ref's eagerness to flash a red card irked and I don't think anyone would have complained had the card being yellow. Would Everton, Man City or Chelsea had a player sent off for a similar challenge? I doubt it.

4-0 flattered Everton; until the sending off, we were well in it, even if it looked set to end in another of those frustrating 1-0/2-0 away defeats where we can't put away the chances we create. Huddlestone's red no doubt had an impact but we were so poor defensively in the last 10 minutes. We really didn't need to make our goal difference any worse and you'd hope that doesn't have a knock on effect into the coming games.

Looking ahead, I think it's a case of winning the next 2 home games or it's as good as over. We are certainly capable of doing that but the away form is leaving no margin for error. There's certainly more confidence about us at home but it's now about how we deal with that pressure. I think Leicester and Bournemouth are now out of it but Palace's remaining games keep them in it. It's going to take results for us to drag Watford and Burnley into the mix. We'll have a better idea on our survival chances after the Boro game as I wouldn't fancy us going into consecutive away games at Man City and Stoke needing results from both.

As a final note, great noise and support from our fans yesterday, even in the last 10 minutes.

I think that sums it up pretty well, the only thing I would add is that after Hudd was sent off we did try to get forward, which did open us up for the sucker punch, but at 1-0 down we had to try and get a goal, which left us exposed at the back.

exactly the right thing to do - our goal difference is **** anyway - may as well go for bust and try and get a point rather than shutting up shop and hoping for a lucky break away

I think you'll find it was us losing a man that brought this about.
