OMG (just to prove I'm down with the kids) this is yet another home game against a team halfway down the league.....................what could possibly go wrong.

These matchday threads are becoming more or less the same every week. This is a game we can win and should win and with the way things are going we will probably struggle with. The other teams apart from Portsmouth and Donnie are also struggling for form so it hasn't hurt us.......yet. Time for the boys to step up and be counted I think. Enough of this pratting about and kidding us it could get difficult. We need to win and it doesn't matter how we do it. I will settle for the worst performance of all time as long as the scoreline says we won.

I am, as always, very confident about a Saturday home match. Nailed on 3 points :emoticon-0137-clapp . Score early, and we might actually take Morecambe to the cleaners. They are a smallish club with nothing much to play for and will probably only bring about 50 fans. Nothing simpler. There, I've said it.

Just about our strongest side today, with exception of Threlkeld on the wrong side in Sawyer's absence.

Morecombe have been truly awful - or have been made to look like that. What they've had,in the first half. we've given them by misplaced passes. Overconfidence is the biggest risk here. Another goal is much deserved and even more needed to put this to bed.

Much closer than it should have been in the 2nd half as Mirecombe improved. A merited win though and another 3 points thrown into the Home Park dungeon.

Told you, we strolled to the 3 points- would have preferred a couple more goals though. 3 more wins!,3 more wins!,3 more wins! etc

Look, I have said so many times now that it's the points that matter not the performance now. It's still true. 3 points to us and happy with that. But, it's far from a stroll to the result. In the first half we were by far the best side and how it was only 1 - 0 I don't know. However, the second half was a complete reversal of the first. To be honest you would be forgiven for thinking the sides had changed shirts at half time. The only difference was the finishing which Morecambe couldn't manage.

We made that a struggle it should not have had to be. I think it was a tactical change although I have no evidence other than my own eyes to come to that conclusion. We stopped doing most of the things we had been doing and gave the ball away repeatedly. The Ref had a reasonable first half I thought and then became erratic in the second. Some of his decisions were very very strange. Still we won and the other results went mostly our way. Another game gone and we are better off points wise than we were compared to the enemy. Good day at the office. Very good goal by Carey by the way who deserves a mention. Exceptionally wasteful by Jervis most of the day. MOM was erm.........erm........not 100% sure but would just about go for Carey today who never really stopped trying and running.

BBC stats shows Argyle having 20 shots on goal and 6 on target.......Morecambe had 5 shots (all in 2nd half) but none on target.

The Sky video shows McCormick beating one shot away....but I don't think it was going in anyway.

Yep that would be 14 ugly horrible shots missing by miles and of the 6 on target a couple of dolly drops into the keeper's hands. I'm sure at least a couple of their efforts were on target but suppose that could just be me rather than fact. Their final third was pants in the main so although I said we swapped shirts at half time they had the ball a lot but didn't make a lot of it. That was them wasting it not us defending brilliantly by the way.

3 points is 3 points and that is all it was about. The table does look pretty good tonight I have to say. The pack still not showing much interest in making a chase. Long may that continue. I reckon 4 wins at the minute would all but guarantee promotion and that may decrease depending on what the pack decided to do. That would be 4 wins with the pack having to win all 8 of their games of course.

Doncaster,Portsmouth and Argyle need 87 pts to be uncatchable.....so we need 16 pts from 24 pts that are available.......Luton can only reach 86 pts including their game in hand.

We need to do to Doncaster and Portsmouth what we did against Liverpool: defend in depth and hit on the break. We're better like that and it's perfectly justifiable in two 6 point away games. Two draws would be very satisfactory.

I think the problems at home come from an idea we have to turn on the style and when the full backs and centre midfielders push on, we can get left exposed. Yesterday, we got the early goal and it's important we don't do the reverse by going gung-ho too soon letting the opposition get some chances. A half time score of 3-0 wouldn't have been unrepresentative of the quality of our play but the crowd stuck with the team and the last 10 mins were non stop noise. Patience is a virtue!

As other teams start dropping points that 16 point target will drop rapidly. It could be the case that only 7-8 more points are required <ok>

Spot on PGF. People seem to be fixating about an uncatchable points tally right now. But, this assumes that everyone else will win their games. It will take some doing for any of them to do it albeit it may not be impossible. Up to now the chasing horde doesn't seem to be able to close the gap in a sustained way. They have come and they have gone again. Some have even come twice but still haven't managed to close up. Never mind what the points possibilities are, that's for those that proclaim winners not us on the ground. I stand by 4 wins and we will do the business. That may not be enough but it's my opinion on how the thing is panning out. That also may be more than enough in equal measure. I don't think the Doncaster and Portsmouth games are 6 pointers either. We shouldn't be interested in winning the league unless the opportunity is there without prejudicing promotion. Those two games are no different to any others we have left.

I predict 3 more wins and a draw will do us.. as you have said all the others behind us must win the lot .. Not going to happen as we have seen so many twists this season with everyone capable of winning any match.. We should concentrate on our results not any one else's. If we win the league a bonus, the main aim is to go up in the top 3.. this we will do without a doubt as im confident.. :emoticon-0176-smoke

I have just been looking around the boards and am a bit shocked if honest at a thread on pasoti following this weekends results. The title of the thread is "Next season's squad". This is basically a thread asking people who they think should be kept and who should go. This is 8 games from the end of the season talking about getting rid of current players who may still have a say in our results. I cannot believe people would actually want to discuss this now of all times. Why can't these thick gits just wait another 6 weeks before giving it large with those sorts of opinions. We can do without those being named as exit fodder reading that and thinking they shouldn't bother for the rest of the season. If it isn't taking promotion for granted it's getting rid of people. Just shut the feck up for christ sake.
