Rule number 1 of correcting someone else: make sure the correction is correct.

Plus it was a completely invented word. You cant just build something and give it a completely different word - it is an aquarium. It's like me building a new house and when people call it a house I say "**** off, it's a houstenarium".

If you invent something, you can call it anything you like and it's been accepted into vocabulary now anyway...

    submarium

    English

    Etymology
    from submarine and aquarium

    Noun
    submarium (plural submaria or submariums)

    1. an aquarium with many sea creatures
As nouns the difference between aquarium and submarium
is that aquarium is a tank, often made of glass, for keeping live fish or other aquatic animals while submarium is an aquarium with many sea creatures.

I was told that the people that own 149 have made a thriving business out of buying rundown chippies, turning them around and selling them on.

Well, they have been there for six or seven years and I think it is still the original owners as far as I know. Despite the changes of staff still excellent fish and chips. Went by last night and people queuing out the door.

Maybe a statue of Gwillum Lloyd asking a bemused first time visitor to Hull if they are a black and white or a red and white.

Dunno CC, just what I was told. I've been to 149 a couple of times and it's very good, my favourite though is still eating it in the restaurant at Whiteheads in Hornsea, we normally go on my day off for tea, although last night we tried Papa's in the restaurant at Bilton which was also very good, we've also tried the takeaway a few times but it is quite greasy in that format.
