An outstanding day, and I did my first ever lap of honour(to applaud the amazing GA) on a professional football field. Now to go up as Champions!
Well, back from the pub and still sober. What a strange day that was. Thing is I didn't think we played that well if I'm totally honest which seems a funny thing to say given the score. Remember all the games that the ball bounced off something or someone and ended up with an opposition player. Remember all the passes and shots that just went nowhere. Well today it seemed they were all destined not to go astray. I felt a bit sorry for Newport to be honest, They didn't deserve a dicking and did their best to play the game. Somehow it was like a veil being lifted for the greens and it all went totally to plan. I doubt anyone would have predicted the end score. I actually think if Argyle had not showboated a bit they might have got another several. Unbelievable but if you are going to do it then that's the way. Hats off to Newport who despite the stories of possible problems with fans were gentlemen all day long. Not the numbers I had expected to turn up but nevertheless they were very magnanamous in defeat. I hope they make it to safety although I fear they may not.
Good luck to you and all the green army next season in League 1. You are a club that belongs in the Champinship.
Thank you NewportSwan......we're on our way back.........we're on our way back................we're Plymouth Argyle and we're on our way back. Hopefully......
