I haven't been in one for years, but as you say not good for those who work there, there's a 1,000 jobs at risk. Apparently, loads of the franchises are closing down, Burger King changed their terms and it's putting over 10% of their franchisees out of business.
The one in Prospect Centre closing will finish off the food court in there. It was already in trouble. The one in St Stephens won't stay closed for too long. I'm still surprised the town centre doesn't have a KFC.
It reopened last year with Burger King, a Mexican, pizza place, cafe and fried chicken place. The pizza place had already closed. Unless you mean it had already gone as in the last month - I haven't been in Centre for a while.
A year or 2 ago over about a 3 month period I went to my local Burger King a fair few times to try to buy a Veggie Bean Burger (which are very nice, better than the meat burger I used to eat). Every time they said they couldn't do them because their microwave was broken. Eventually I got so annoyed I emailed a complaint to Burger King. Their reply was that they don't use microwaves.
About a decade ago, Burger King were getting loads of grief on social media for microwaving everything before they served it, so I think they stopped using them.
I'm guessing the branch I used didn't get that memo. Hope I didn't get anybody into trouble... Meh, I don't care if I did. I had to have one of MacDonalds' vastly inferior vegi delis instead.
I thought I'd read about it recently , the company that runs it went into administration but they are still open for now

Is the picture misleading or are those hedges made up of deciduous bushes? Wouldn't evergreen have been nicer?
When it's got leaves on it is. Not having a go or moaning or owt, just thought it might look nicer green all year round.
