It's not quite over yet for another season and on Saturday we face Colchester away. Everything has gone swimmingly well over the last 7 days and we have finally got over that magic line so what could possibly go wrong. Well nothing I guess except of course where we finish in the end. It was never important before now as promotion was the only thing that mattered. Having cracked that nut it now actually does become something to work for. Do we want Pompey to pass us on the finishing straight.............I say NO. NO. NO. Do we want to catch Donnie in the finishing straight........... I say YES YES YES although that might be a bit hard to do. So, what does the form book tell us this time. Colchester have not lost in 3 but for once you could not argue they are the form team of the moment. Over the last 10 matches they have lost 4, drawn 3 and won 3. We have lost 2, drawn 2 and won 6. Once more on paper we should be the favourites along with our away record of the season. But, it's never that easy and we all know Argyle can feck it up at anytime. Colchester are 2 points off the last play off place. They are going to want this and maybe they will want it more than we do. I am not sure which Argyle are going to turn up for the last few games.
Can't make it tomorrow, my first Saturday off 'work' in 8 weeks!. Fancy we might just do the job and come home with 3 points to put Donny under real pressure.
No Kennedy after he limped off on Monday. Smith, Fox and Sarevic in midfield and Carey on the left presumably.
Unusually Argyle pushing forward and Colchester hitting back on the break. Even game, Argyle having possession, Colchester with better chances. Meanwhile, Wycombe 2 Doncaster 1. I've always liked Wycombe and Gareth Ainsworth.
Bit uninspiring so far by the look of it. Have they suddenly gone on holiday early perhaps. Would be concerned if we needed the points I suppose.
A point away is not a bad return but I guess after the euphoria we were looking for more. Oh well league for top 3 is as was except a bit more cramped. Onwards we go. Orient finally fell through the door and it looks like Newport are going to manage the great escape.
With Doncaster losing we are a point nearer to them....only 2pts in it.....but only 2pts between us and Portsmouth as well.
Objectively, that's not a bad result is it? I know we wanted more but the race is still on. Crewe are in Limbo land whereas Doncaster have to face Exeter next Saturday. What price on ECFC doing us a favour?
They need the points as it's bleddy close for play offs so they will be trying even if it does do us a favour. All those "I hate Excretia" types are gonna have to eat humble pie and become an Exeter fan for the day.
Bit disappointed with a point especially after the Newport game but that's football I suppose. Those silly games we should never have lost!
