I know with the threat and everything pulses are racing and police have to act on instinct, but can't they shoot to disable and take these people alive? They can't be interrogated if they're dead.
I know it is, but it has to be worth a try, the information they get could be vital to saving more lives.
i guarantee you they do, but if you're shooting someone in close quarters, then it makes it almost impossible and a distant 'disabling' shot doesn't assure safety unless you think they should use tasers
Well it's difficult in the moment because you have to think of the safety of the public, but one shot to the shoulder or firing arm would render them immobile/incapable of shooting? That being said I don't know how far away the cops were.
it's hard enough to shoot centre mass, nevermind a limb, and it increases chance of missing completely massively, maybe youll hit someone else plus a shot to a limb can keep the target well enough to still shoot etc and a moving target makes it even worse, it's just not practical, safe or effective to try and only injure with firearms, they are designed to kill
once they're dead they're dead they cant be used as a bargaining tool later on - ie we'll explode stuff at football matches unless you release such and such - they might blow stuff up anyway but its one less ****er at the end of the day
Yeah, to which the response will be "well we'll march into your country and pull your pants down." They really need to work out a way to take one alive, killing them is giving them exactly what they and their superiors want. They aren't going to ever stop attacking Western countries, it's effectively a hydra organisation with many factions and groups which makes it incredibly hard to track down where exactly this is being dictated from.
in greek mythology, wasnt a hydra a creature with many heads? is that what you mean? many heads? many leaders? instead of 1 general?
