The facts are that the price was tripled 2 years ago. The council paid the difference last year but weren't willing to do it this year (and why should they?). The ERCFA weren't willing to pay the full amount so the game isn't going ahead at the KCOM. Those are THE FACTS. Guff about stringent PL standards, the pitch not able to take 1 more game after the season has ended are NOT FACT but SPURIOUS SPECULATION. In fact it is SPURIOUS NONSENSE.
I would speculate that the ERCFA were hoping and expecting that the issue wouldn't arise this year as the Allam's would have kept to their word and done one.
I quoted FACTS. No speculation about non existent stringent PL rules, or nonsense about the pitch. The pitch wouldn't have been a problem if the ERCFA has stumped up the money. The game would have gone ahead. So to say that stringent non existent PL rules or concerns about the pitch had anything to do with it is SPURIOUS SPECULATION.
Is the ERCFA, or anyone else, naive enough to think that the Allams would keep their word on anything?
It isn't an opinion. It is a FACT. According to your OPINION, based on SPURIOUS SPECULATION about non existent stringent PL rules and other equally non existent reasons,, no further games outside of City and FC ones can take place on this poor, mistreated pitch. So if it takes place there next year your opinion will crash and burn.. In the meantime let us hope we aren't offered any England Under 21 Or Under 23 games or rugby internationals as we will have to turn them down. Of course any Euros or World Cup Finals in the future would have to be declined as well as the pitch can't stand one more game after the end of our season.
Have I missed something? I don't understand the points you are trying to make, unless it is we don't know why the Allams have ended up all over the press over where the Senior Cup Final should be played. We know what statements have been made since it hit the press but are those the real reasons?
Have I said anything that is incorrect as regards the reasons this final is not taking place at the KCOM?
Well, when City man stops posting spurious, incorrect speculation I will stop pointing out that he is. Or just leave it at he is wrong and I am right.
It seems that some posters on this thread have decided they are the 'real reasons' AKA 'the FACTS'. Other posters may take a more detached and objective view of this whole affair, deciding that there are too few pieces of truthful information to formulate a definitive opinion.
After wading through pages of waffle it looks to me like the first problem was the price and then when someone offered to pay the goal posts were moved and the SMC said technical issues were the problem and this morphed into a lack of time to prepare. What has not changed is the fact that the Allams are ****s, they should have done this for free and reaped the goodwill of the local community, an easy win they managed to lose.
