QPR Under-23s record 7-1 win against Colchester United ...

    • QPR Under-23s record 7-1 win against Colchester
    • Aramide Oteh (4), Eberechi Eze (2) and Jeremy Arthur on target
ARAMIDE Oteh scored four times in QPR Under-23s 7-1 thrashing of Colchester United on Monday afternoon.
In the R’s penultimate Professional Development League Two fixture of the season the former Tottenham Hotspur forward added to Eberechi Eze’s opener as he scored a 10 minute hat trick in the first half as Rangers took a controlling 4-1 half-time lead.
Eze made it 5-1 60 seconds after the restart before Oteh added his fourth and QPR’s sixth. Defender Jeremy Arthur then rounded off the comprehensive victory for Paul Hall’s sides nine minutes from time.
QPR opened their account after just six minutes when Eze smashed home a free-kick from 22-yards into the top corner but the hosts levelled proceedings when George Brown latched onto a through ball and slotted past R’s keeper Seny Dieng from 8-yards to make it 1-1 after 24 minutes.
Colchester’s comeback was short-lived however, as just two minutes later Oteh opened his account when he got on the end of Dan Darbyshire’s left-wing cross inside the six-yard box to make it 2-1 before making it 3-1 on the half hour mark from 12-yards when he latched onto Reece Grego-Cox’s square ball.
Six minutes later and Oteh completed his hattrick when Daniel Rowe pulled back to the 18-year-old on the edge of the six-yard box who cooly finished into the far corner.
It took the the Under-23s just 60 seconds after the half-time break to score again when Niko Hamalainen picked out the run of Eze with a long diagonal ball and the 18-year-old hit the bottom corner from 12-yards.
10 minutes later and Oteh was on hand once more to score his fourth of the afternoon as a driving run, from inside his own half, by substitute Josh Bowler left the R’s forward with the simple task of slotting past the keeper having raced onto his through ball to make it 6-1.
That just left defender Arthur to round off a good afternoon in Essex as he rose inside the six-yard box to head home Rowe’s cross to complete the 7-1 rout.
Rangers Under-23s finish off their season on Friday when they travel to Watford to face the Hornets at Vicarage Road, 2pm kick-off.
QPR: Dieng (Hudnott 83), Wallen, Arthur, Paul (Bowler 20), Hamalainen, Eze, Rowe, Grego-Cox, Chair, Darbsyhire, Oteh.
    Subs not used: Owens.
    Goals: Oteh 26, 30, 36, 56, Eze 6, 46, Arthur 81.

Isn't that who we were rubbish against earlier in the season? Hopefully signs of a resurgence in the development setup...
