I was on that double decker that day. We all got put in a massive communal cell in Lincoln cop shop and were individually asked if we saw anything. I think I was about 15 at the time. I got home at 3am and me mam went ballistic. Shaun Tordoff mentions the event in his book.
Speaking of Brid, I think you will find that the town has it's very own Gypsey Race. Just sayin' like.
Gypsey (not gypsy) comes from the old English gypsia, the meaning of which I am sure you will be familiar with. It doesn't race much nowadays, more a very small trickle.
There used to be rugby pitch the Grammar School used next to the Gypsey Race. The longest ever penalty kick in a rugby union game was scored there. It is in the Guinness Book Of Records. Kicked by the father of a regular contributor on City Independent.
If we are all done commenting on these can they be moved to the history thread as someone suggested earlier. Ta very much to everyone for their memories of the times.
I'm not sure what's best, so I'll merge it all now and we can filter any posts not needed out later. Thanks for posting them. I know some involved with organising things back then has read them.
That Gillingham coach got raided on departure. Some snide Exocets and a couple of intercontinental ballistic missiles. I believe an enemy moped was taken hostage sometime round this time?

Help me JohnX...please fill in the blanks or corrected where I'm wrong if poss. Totally forget who the keeper was - I think it's 62/63 or 63/64 season team ? Back Row L-->R Les Collinson, Dennis Butler, Mike Williams , Eric McMillan , Paul Feasey Front Row L-->R Doug Clarke, Billy Wilkinson, Jock Davidson, Chris Chilton, Ray Henderson, John McSeveney edited for accuracy.
Think it is a 1963/64 photo with Maurice Swan as the GK. During the 60's City had a keeper with my Surname.
I got the ones you more or less got, I think the bottom row is as you say. Was the keeper Mike Williams?
