If you read our "other" fans forum then he's linked with just about everyone except Barcelona. The one sure thing is I doubt he is staying here. Both Sheffield Clubs who were going to pay him £15k per week and yourselves have been mentioned. He is of that age, and, having had a pretty decent couple of seasons with us, when he has to cash in if the offer is there. There is no way we are going to offer him mega bucks so if anyone comes in and offers him double then he ought to bite their hand off. We would probably do the same in his boots so I guess he won't get criticised by Argyle fans. Personally I do like him and would prefer him to stay here but I also don't think he is our best player despite the publicity and I wouldn't miss him as much as a lot might. People tend to forgive and forget the poor games and cock-ups he makes for the times he does something dazzling. It's a case of when he's good he's very very good and when he's bad he's ..................(fill in the blank yourself).

Those clubs aren't exactly magnetic attractions are they? The Sheffield clubs perhaps more so.

It is the era of fake news these days...so a pinch of salt maybe required here......as you say notDistant....I am more concerned with the Sheffield clubs and him trying his luck in the Championship.....that's beside the extra dosh of course......maybe regular playing time would out way just the money for him (doubtful maybe)....match fitness is always best achieved by regular first team football......somewhere else might not allow him the freedom to wander like Derek Adams allows him to do.....but at the end of the day....money talks loudest.

I don't think it's so much fake news as supporters at this time of year doing the guessing bit in the hope of being right. You know how the rumour mill goes don't you.............my mate's grannies gynocologist was having dinner at Nandos and overheard the waiter who knows somebody who once went to school with the groundsman's daughter that...................is leaving/joining the club. It's the only thing that makes the closed season go around.

In Carey's case I think it is just fairly safe to say he is going somewhere.

I think that there is about a 5% chance of Carey staying. Good luck to him, he has probably got 5-7 years left and if someone wants to pay 5X his Argyle wages then you would wouldn't you?
As someone said to me recently, whatever happens between seasons you will always be disappointed. The point being that it has very little to do with budgets, how much the fans rate someone, or how much the wife and children like the area. Football has changed a massive amount in the last few years-there are still a few superstars (that we cant afford) some good players (that we might be able to afford) and loads of other decent professionals(that we can afford). I have formed the opinion that, on the assumption that we haven't got anyone to buy success, it is very much down to the manager to turn a bunch of decent players into good players that can be successful in L1. I expect that we will get a bunch of players that no-one knows much about and it will be down to DA to make sure that they impress us. Sounds familiar?-I cant say that for the last couple of seasons we have signed anyone who came with a great reputation, in fact, those that we thought might have done well have been eclipsed by the others.
Don't expect any big name signings, but some good footballers will be arriving.

I don't think anyone will be expecting any big name signings lyndhurst unless by that you mean some eastern european with a name worth hundreds in scrabble. I don't expect big names and I don't expect us to buy anyone either. There are loads of players released or out of contract at this time of year and no doubt that is the list Adams will have. I agree it has little to do with budgets and go back to my old favourite of a lot of luck to get the right blend who fit together on and off the pitch. We sort of have this conversation every season at one time or another. The last time we started a climb from this league there were no stars in the team. Sturrock struck lucky with his picks and then managed them into a unit fit for purpose. That has always been the way to do it if you haven't got billions instead. Leicester even did it in the top league.

I don't care how much a player costs or what we pay them either. I just want a team to compete who are worth watching on a Saturday. Adams did it before so no reason to doubt he can do it again.

I went into the BeeB football site and the first thing I saw was Argyle sign Ainsworth. I instantly thought fecking hell where has Adams gone and why have we signed him. Whew!!!!!

I have already said I don't care how much any of them cost or where they come from anymore. The moans and groans of last season were totally misplaced and in the end Adams did us proud so bugger it, I'm just going to trust him.
