With Aberdeen about to lose their manager to Sunderland.....there is speculation regarding who might take over at Aberdeen.

The Daily Record says....that 41 year old Derek Adams....life long Dons fan wants to return home and finally land the job that he was linked to before McInnes got the job.....getting them to runners up behind Celtic this year.

How much truth in this story at present we don't know......Adams is down the pecking order in the betting.

I have no idea who else is interested......only just got in from a sweltering/knackering day at Kew Gardens....temp up in the 80F.....plus getting caught in the rush hour down from Waterloo East.....lets hope he doesn't go...with him bringing in new players it would leave us in a mess.

PS.....Alex Neil is favourite for the job.....and some have been saying that they thought Derek was a Rangers fan......have the Daily Record got their facts wrong ?

I'm just going to stick fingers in ears and pretend this conversation isn't happening.

Derek is a huge Rangers fan but obviously has a soft spot for Aberdeen having played there twice(?). Just (poorly thought out) paper talk for me. Lots of rules surround approaching managers that are already employed at other clubs. Smells very much like a friend of a friend of DA's commented that DA would like to return to Scotland (at some point) and this has been turned into him wanting to leave Argyle and go North now. I wont go quite as far as to say that I will bare my a$rse in Dingles window if this happens, but I would be mightily surprised.

Derek is on record (somewhere) of saying that one day he will go back to Scotland to manage.....but he has a 4 year project at the moment to get Argyle back into the Championship....which I feel he is committed to....now if the Rangers job came up one day that might be different....but at 41 he has got time on his side.

Remembering him saying div.2 clubs could play in the Scottish Premiership or something of the sort. Better off staying south for a while.

That could upset a few Scottish club owners.....that might work in our favour at the moment.

Reassuring to hear that there is some integrity within in the game.....lets hope it blows over has quick as it came.....with more experience and a few more years under his belt I'm sure Derek Adams could be back in Scotland managing one of the big clubs.

Obviously the Sunderland job with it's wads of Sky money even for relegated clubs wasn't attractive enough.....ok many people will say Aberdeen have reached their summit by coming second to Scotland's only big club in 2017. McInnes says that there is a lot still to do.....noticeable that half their team have moved on this summer so what's that about ?

Players that might be looking at offers from Derek Adams to come to PAFC would have taken note of what might of happened....so lets hope it hasn't scared anyone off.

I think it takes a lot more than a newspaper article which seems to be mainly made up to spook football people plym. They must read all sorts of crap like this all the time.
