    As the title suggests.

    1. Frank Skinner.

    2. Jim Jeffries.

    3. Stuart Lee.

I wanted to put Peter Kay in there but Bummers would implode.:emoticon-0126-nerd:

Daniel Kitson is head and shoulders above anyone else for me. And the fact that he hates Peter Kay just makes me like him more.

Most of them make me laugh, but one that I think goes under the radar a bit is Tim Minchin. Maybe because it's more musical comedy, and perhaps partly because he seems to have disappeared a bit in recent years, but anyway, some of his songs are hilariously clever in my opinion. There are other musical comedians who seem to get more attention but I think Minchin is a cut above.

I always laugh watching Les Dawson back.

For current comedians I think Romesh Ranganathan is pretty funny.

The original radio shows of Count Arthur Strong are piss funny as well.

I've seen Stewart Lee and Richard Herring a few times and they're quality.

    More modern comedians.
    Peter Kay
    Micky Flanagan
    Rob Brydon

    Older school
    Les Dawson
    Mike Harding
    Chubby
    Bernard Manning

There are so many that make me laugh. Impossible to choose really.

Ya can't leave Billy Connolly if any list of comedians. Then ya get the women too. Rip Victoria Wood.

I think Micky Flanagan's the best current stand up act, by some distance.

I also like Brydon, Minchin and Peter Kay didn't become the most successful British comedian of all time by being ****.

I don't know if it counts, as they're a team, but Monty python were wonderful, with 'Life of Brian' being the funniest film ever.

Brian: "You mean you were raped?"

Brian's mam: "Well at first, yes". <laugh>

By the same token Shakin Stevens and Westlife werent therefore **** as the best selling male solo artist and group in Britain in the 80s and 90s respectively.

And didnt you also say Gervais was? How are we measuring success?

I was lucky enough to see Morcambe and Wise at the ABC cinema and my sides were literally aching by the end.
The only other comedian to do that was Billy Connolly who I saw at the New Theatre when he was at his best.

    No, I didn't.

I'm measuring success as the comedian who set the record for the most people coming to watch their stand up act and making the most money from it.

You said 'most successful British comedian of all time', not most successful British stand-up comedian of all time. And you yourself said Gervais has made more money from comedy than Kay.
