I think if you offered Blackburn fans the chance to swap their solitary league title for sustained PL security, they'd bite your hand off. On the brink of relegation to League 1 now. Once gravity kicks in, there's no way of knowing how far you can fall - especially when you have a squad full of ageing and overpaid players.

I'm not questioning Leicester fans' opinions as they obviously know their squad better than me, but I count at least 7-8 players who would either abandon ship if it sinks or whose salaries are simply unsustainable at Championship level. That's one heck of a turnover and one that could go badly wrong. The average quality in the second tier improves year on year as the PL megabucks begin to filter down. You now see Championship players sold for over £15m on a regular basis, whilst many of the incomings cost well over £10m.

The league has to be prioritised over the CL. As much as the latter is an extension of last year's fairytale, **** has very much hit the fan. It is infinitely easier to bring in a decent manager and enact a squad overhaul in the PL than it is down below. Look at how Villa are struggling to do it and they are a bigger club than Leicester. Newcastle were very, very fortunate to bring in a manager of Benitez' quality while they were still in the PL and had the funds to hang onto him as they look to bounce straight back.

I guess I'm just surprised by how chilled many leicester fans are about the current predicament. Seems to be a combination of adrenaline from last season with a firm belief that you'll be promoted at first attempt should you go down.

I think the Blackburn example is irrelevant. We are over 20 years on from their success and it's hardly an effect of that. Their decline is pretty much solely down to poor ownership which can happen to any club and it would be the same for them now whether they won the league 20 years ago or not.

My point regarding Blackburn was simply a 'what would you prefer?' scenario: that solitary league title plus what could turn into decades in the wilderness, or a sustained presence in the promised land? It was entirely theoretical; when Lineker comes out with nonsense like 'I'd gladly see Leicester drop 3 divisions if it meant winning that trophy all over again' I mean...really?? If you'd be happy with that, fair enough. But if you offered me the chance to see Spurs win the league and then drop 3 divisions, I'd run a mile.

There is a very, very fine line between solid and poor ownership, hence my second point. You getting relegated with your current squad would see you firmly cross that line imho, for the simple reason that your wage bill is the 11th highest in the league and your squad is filled with ageing players and others who don't really want to be there. In the hypothetical scenario that it seems most Leicester fans have complete faith in, the team goes down, the next manager comes in and rebuilds the bulk of the squad in a season or two (before the financial burden turns you into the next Leeds, QPR or Bolton), and you return to the PL stronger and hungrier. Sound too good to be true? Probably. Only 15 teams have managed to bounce straight back to the PL since it was founded 25 years ago. Of those, only WBA and West Ham have managed to establish themselves as permanent PL fixtures (Man City don't count...:emoticon-0164-cash:).

Could happen, but there are a heck of a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' being relied on. Leeds were relegated with a far better squad than your own. And yes, the off-field management was as much of a mess as the on field one, but look how long it has taken them to even come close to returning to the PL. I can see you becoming the next Villa or QPR sooner than you'll be the next Newcastle.

You haven't got a hope of winning the CL. Ranieri should just play the kids and go all-out for PL survival.

You haven't heard that from actual paying Leicester fans.

We're told by the media that we need to accept going down because "this is where we belong".

Sick of it to be honest. Patronising ****e.

Absolutely and I(and other posters) used to call the fans on here 'patronising' when they were little ol' Leicestering all over here. When in reality its nothing to do with Leicester it was because it gave them an excuse to pop at the Spurs. When I said Vardy is acting like someone with 'new' money and that will be to his detriment..people thought that meant I'm jealous and would want him in my team over Kane etc etc the examples are limitless

Unfortunately you boys joined the bandwagon and fed the animosity so as much as it pains me to see you like this, im highly amused to see your team play with concrete boots on <ok>

I think it's different perspectives and I admit mine might change over time. Right now, I wouldn't change it. This is because I think we will always be likely to get back in the prem even if it takes a few years (it took 10 last time) but we won't be champions of England again. I'm 24 and saw us in the prem, down to league 1 and back again and I may see that a few times more at least the championship. I won't see a league win again. I'll tell my children and grandchildren about last season but not about which division we were in in any given year if that makes sense. So if we end up dropping division after division it may change but not right now.
I'll echo AK as well that real Leicester fans aren't accepting it at all. It's media and other fans patronising bullshit saying we should accept it as it's our level

That's a bit generalising in the same was as if we said most or all of your fans were being arseholes when you were chasing us (such as that TV channel of yours or a couple that were interviewed on sky that had so much arrogance). In reality, probably a small amount of Spurs fans are like that and a small amount of ours were giving it out. Most of us just enjoyed the rise and defend our team.

I hear the real Leicester fans on the radio nowadays. Probably is a generalisation however that's because it covers the majority of views on here, if individuals want to know if I mean them, then I will tell them if they pull me up. I just remember the pantomime last season with us being the villains. Your an honest Fox John and I've seen your heart on sleeve comments on here and brutal honesty. That always gets props. However making my team the pantomime villains was not highly amusing especially when egged on by other team fans, I don't call that supporting your own team...it prevented any form of football chat on here from a Spurs perspective..so I for one am loving Leicester's decline. Maybe the other teams can loan you some players that can kick a ball with passion? Ask Chelsea, they got about 40 players surplus to requirements.

Why don't you come and seek shelter on the Spurs board? You had your own apartment on it last season, not been keeping up with rent payments?

  14. I think half of them are too stupid to understand the trouble they are in, and the other half are to naïve to believe that it will happen.

    That's just my opinion.

Again, this pantomime villain thing, that was as much the media as anything else. Fans of both clubs were most likely concentrating purely on the fortunes of their team. I have no issue with Spurs this season, in fact most weeks you will be playing someone we need you to beat for us :emoticon-0148-yes:
