This really is the biggest game of the season as a win would virtually see us safe. I for one do not want to travel to Oxford knowing we need something from that game. Southend also really need a win after their setback on Monday. I can see Bury beating Northampton (who looked poor against us on Monday) but Vale, Gillingham and Swindon look to have tougher home matches against Bolton, Fleetwood and Scunthorpe respectively. Come on lads - we have fluffed so many opportunities to get to safety lately so please put us out of a misery by repeating the fine passing we showed on Monday and adding in a few decent crosses and finishes. I predict a nervy 2-1 win for us.

Northampton will have two players unavailable due to double yellows against us, so Bury will be odds on to get points.

As you say, let's hope we get the ultimate points out of Saturday's game so we can enjoy the away trip to Oxford.

On an aside, Paul Hurst's results would have achieved us a possible 63 points over the full season so let's hope he can get us to that next year in league one!

Wow what a game. Town played well in the first 4/5 of the first half and could have taken the lead at several points. Ranger hardly troubled us in this half as Toto had him in his pocket. Second half we were second best at the start, but when we scored they subbed and it seemed to change things for the better for us. This brought on a quick player who scared Brown a couple of times but he soon learnt how to deal with him. Southend then did a double sub including Theo Robinson (often touted as signing for us). Still we seemed to be in a good amount of control of the game and ended up seeing out a win.

Brown is good at heading, and recently he hasn't come up for corners, however today he did and boy are we glad he did!
Thankfully Vale lost 0-2 and Gillingham twice lost a lead to end up losing 2-3. So we are theoretically safe as long as Vale don't score a lot more goals than us and we lose by several goals at Oxford. Hopefully Walsall will do is a favour on Tuesday night!

Yes - it was another tight game with few clear-cut chances but all credit to Hurst and the lads for getting us over the line. The manger now has a chance to clear out the underachieving players and bring in more of his own choices. If he can find a few more gems like Tote from the lower divisions and also continue the decent standard of loan players he has brought in we should be able to properly establish ourselves as a League 1 side next year.
