Good to see the youth trio have got one and Lawrence too.

Gray wasn't 7 before was he?

 

Gray getting the #7 shirt could indicate his new status promised by Shakespeare.

Lawrence getting the #16 is interesting as well - Shakespeare might actually have plans for him among all of the transfer speculation around him.

 

He was #22.

Matty James has that now instead of his previous #8 - could indicate his new status.

 

Lawrence has always been 16

Simpson, Gray, James and Musa are the only changes

 

Number 8 has been reserved for Gylfi

 

Oh yeah - has been on loan so many times I didn't realise.

#8 traditionally goes to a CM but then again we have a CM wearing #4

 

Depends how far back you look for tradition - number 8 is an inside right for me

Random little rumour - Matty James requested the change in number because his kid was born on the 22nd.

Means that the number chance isn't a demotion or he was moved for someone else if true.

 

James is like a new signing for us. Looking very good so far.

 

Slimani also proving what he can do, id rather sell Ulloa, even if it makes us less money from the transfer.

That low curling cross by lawrence though ... if only Vardy had still been on the pitch ...

Looks like with James and Lawrence coming back, our overall squad strength has improved.

If iheanacho ever completes his move, i feel we have strong enough squad to replace any injuries in the starting 11 without too much hassle.

I really want to see Lawrence get a chance. Like you say with Iheanacho we'd be in good shape. Maybe still ship out some deadwood in MF and get one more in, a Silva or a Siggy if we want it all. Another DEF too

 

I wasn't able to watch the game but from what I've been told by those that watched it and what I've read online is that without Mahrez we lack creativity and without Vardy we lack an attacking threat.

With Iheanacho very close to signing, maybe the latter will be sorted but the former is a big worry - if he goes, or if he stays and pays with lies urgency like last season, we don't have anyone that can step up.

Both links with Siggurdson and Silva seem to have gone cold and we aren't linked with anyone else - am hoping that we pull another Iborra signing that surprises everyone...
