"No, again I agree with you. What is the solution? That's a very difficult question. Gambling is big business in SE Asia and football, amongst other sports, is a huge money spinner, ironically gambling is banned in Thailand, and the betting organisations want to see English, Spanish and German football. Everywhere you go in Thailand, you can't fail to see people wearing football shirts for Real Madrid, Bayern München, Manchester Utd etc, etc. Leicester city must have seen a huge surge in kit sales after they won the premier league, I saw an inordinate amount of Leicester shirts appear everywhere last May. It's all about demand, and the football fan is the last person on the list. Everyone wants a piece of the very big pie." the only solution is turning your back on the game>>>>>>>shame really because we the working class created it for our own entertainment, not 2 make money for the man please log in to view this image
Not sure about all this guys. Life's full of great principles - and then you die. I've done my travelling time around the grounds over the years and still attend all our home games unless I'm away. Being exclusively UK based these days, I agree the cost of Skysport/BT Sport is ludicrous, but for many it's the only way to watch football at all. That doesn't make it right, it's just the way it's gone. I stream a lot of overseas football live. It costs me nothing and there's some great stuff to watch all times of the day from Europe and Asia in particular. Germany, Italy and Spain televise some sensational stuff, and anyone who thinks Australian, Chinese, South Korean and Japanese football is quaint had better think again these days - they are bloody good and extremely entertaining. As far as the UK game is concerned, I'll always watch it in the flesh when I can. Having said that, I may be the odd one out here but I'll also keep paying my Sky subscription, enjoy the football on the box when I feel like it, and my life in general while it lasts. Is that burying my head in the sand to the detriment of others on this planet? Well maybe so in a small way, but I ain't going to change the world and neither is anyone else posting on this forum. Watch the game whichever way suits you. Apart from agreeing about the extorionate costs of UK televised football these days, nobody is completely right.
but you feed the greed though sparks>>>>>>>>>I not talking about you personally dude but anyone who pays what sky want only adds 2 the next price rise........yes its a personal choice and one in which im more than happy not 2 help sky or bt one bit but that's just me. personally I don't think the game has got better since the money has come in, put this this way if they sold you the same loaf of bread you previously paid 20p for will it taste any better if they charge you a thousand pound for it in the future. other than that im not keen on sky/bt money going into the prem clubs rather than them that need it more(grass roots development)>>>>>>>in short im not funding twats like man utd arsenal man city Liverpool Chelsea spurs and fking Swansea city I can tell thee.
That's the problem though aber - there will never be a universal withdrawal of SkySport subscribers - it just won't happen. I agree completely about the allocation of the revenue received by Sky on the back of the game. It needs to be far more diverse than just feeding the "big guns" of the Premier league. The lower division teams that attract far more loyal supporters collectively than the mega clubs can muster are screaming for a fairer allocation of the money. The self-marketing capabilities of the likes of Man U, Man C, Chelsea etc etc should be enough to sustain them to a far greater extent. Throwing the majority of the TV funding at those who already have enough is the biggest obscenity of the lot. How do we change that? I don't have an answer but I agree it needs a major overhaul to distribute far more of the proceeds to the grass roots of the game.
I agree with you Sparks that not enough people will stop their Sky payments to make a difference. But there has to be something fundamentally wrong with a 'sport' where clubs only one division above the Championship are paying more to buy one player than the value of most clubs in our league. Also a 'sport' where Hereford went bust with debts totalling less than the weekly wage of any very average Premiership player.
No problem getting HD streams for the Swans, they will never be able to shut them all down, and how do you close streams from Russia etc? Stuff Sky and support all the illegal streams, Kodi, open box, and Android box, etc, etc!!!............. Aye aber dude, your obsessed with us jacks!.................
funny thing is Philip>>>>>since ive been streaming ive never felt the urge 2watch your lot>>>>>>>>>obsessed, not on your nelly I just like taking shots at fodder......its playing ducks on the Atari for me, but not as much fun. talking about retro gaming where`s old chuckie egg (aussie) these days?........picking corn I can only assume
We must be top of the Championship - City on Sky twice. Both away games at Brum and the Wurzels - that'll do nicely for me. http://www.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky/competitions/championship
Jay - I think we're already in the limelight after our opening 5 match winning run. All the Championship managers will be plotting to overturn Warnock's boys, so the TV will make little difference. The other way of looking at it in my opinion is the more other clubs fear us, the better our chance against them. There's a tendancy for the opposition to show too much respect toward successful sides rather than playing their normal game, and that can be a big mistake.
Sky are crooks, They will always show the Bigger teams like Leed's, Villa and Boro as they know they will get more revenue coming in....The rest will get the odd games especially if they are playing the big boys in your league, But towards the end of the season they start to include those who are in relegation mode.....I hate sky but the money is good for mainly premiership clubs and i would prefer a more balanced distribution down the leagues than the all ready rich clubs getting the lions share and the rest getting peanuts.....
