As far as Sprinter Sacre is concerned, I'm leaving the race alone. But I hope he can win. Though I wouldn't trust backing him after his run in the Champion Chase
As for horses tomorrow Sandown 2.35 Menorah 5-2 Won this last year and will be too strong in the finish for everything in my book. 3.50 Royale Knight 25-1 EW I backed this in the National only to be just edged out of a place - I fancy him to get at least a place tomorrow. 5.00 Generous Ransom 7-2 This horse has been a real improver throughout the whole season and I hope he can sign off with another deserved victory. Good luck all.
Agree With Toppy! Al Ferof a class above the rest! Should have a lot of these off the bridle very early Menorah not showed anything and even on best form sill has a bit to find!!
There is a real dark side to Greyhound racing unfortunately. Luckily for the dogs, it is a sport in decline with fewer and fewer meetings every year
Off to Sandown today to see McCoy the Legend win on his last ride. Backing the following; BARON ALCO 14-1 has a bit to find but shrewd stable will have him spot on for this. MENORAH class act and loves it round here, hosed up in this last year coming off similarly moderate efforts just as he does today. SOMERSBY another class act and looks the real value in the race, doesn't know how to run a bad one! LE REVE held in high esteem by yard, always has been, and blossoming into a mighty fine staying chaser. Comes here well handicapped still and will win. National material next year! BOX OFFICE backed last night at 5's, its written in the stars. Would fancy it strongly regardless of the AP fairytale ending! HORIZONTAL SPEED/JAY ARE both from in form yards, one from the top and one from the bottom. POLLY PEACHUM the Mares Hurdle form puts her in a different league to my eye and Henderson will want to finish on a winning note for sure!
I hear you Bob and I have my own way of dealing with it. I imagine Gina doing it naked, and as she opens the door I can see paradise by the dashboard lights. (with apologies to Meatloaf)
Today's the day when we'll say farewell to a legend in AP, there'll never be another jockey as successful as him. So who'll be champion jockey for the 2015/2016 season? Richard Johnson? Tom Scudamore? Sam Twiston Davies? None of them, cos AP will come out of retirement and be champion jockey for the 21st time.
There's no doubt if he was in the same form as 2012/2013 season, he'd win comfortably. But I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole today.
I've also joined the mugs and taken the 5/1 B365 are just after offering on BOX OFFICE. I got his 4000th winner and hopefully his last! I hasten to add I probably haven't had an AP winner since Mountain Tunes though lol The best bet today is surely POLLY PEACHUM 2/1 in the finale. I recall she nearly chinned last years winner Southfield Theatre in this as I'd my bollocks on ST that day! She's up against his half brother today and I'd be very confident she'll reap her revenge today. Higher rated and getting weight?! Fry's mare Bitofapuzzle advertised the Mare's form at Fairyhouse and in the context of a race of this level that form should be plenty good enough
Afternoon all!! Flying visit. Really hope McCoy goes out on a winner but only one bet for me today and that is WONDERFUL CHARM 20/1 eway. Good luck all!!
Bobs Worth, Off his lowest handicap make since running in a 'grade 2' Ascot race Feb 2012. This race today has not attracted the competitive class of previous years. If Bobs Worth is in one of his going moods today, he surely must finish in the top 3. Its a good bet at between 12s & 16/1. Al Ferof might just have too much for another old fav of mine Menorah., thou, wouldn't put it passed Hobbs to squeeze a bit more out of Menorah, especially on this going. Looks like Alzammaar is improving fast and ran beyond his handicap mark in this grade last time. He has gone up 8lbs but still maybe worth a good e/w bet . The big danger is Old Guard., who has to defy 11 stone 12 llbs.,and for a 4 year old , that's a lot of weight around Sandown. I've put a few shillings e/w on the pair of them and a little reverse forecast to boot.
A treble for Henry De Bromhead at Sandown on the cards? Home Run (2.35, priced at 14/1 but one of the outsiders), Special Tiara (3.15, 7/2), Grand Jesture (3.50, 8/1 but currently favourite).
On the train to Sandown Should be a great day! Going for Old Guard in the first Al Ferof in the 2nd, each way bet on Vibrato Valtat in the 3.15, grand he's tire in the Gold Cup. I somehow don't think Box Office will win but will back it anyway!
