antipodean, of course there will be some revelling in your start to the season. Hardly a revelation stating that. The same as there being some lording it by your mob at this clubs downfall and your success in getting to the heights. The posts on the Southampton board last term were right up there with lording it given the dizzy heights you reached. There were some posters who came on here to throw in the old look where you are compared to us comments. That's lording it in my book. This season the wheels have come off. Maybe temporarily or maybe not, time will tell. But, the tone of some of the posts now bemoans this wheel loss being the fault of finances and it being unfair. I didn't see that excuse being made last season. So now it's not your fault it's all down to rich owners. Thought you had one of those and a healthy bank balance given the sales but clearly not rich enough. Now I understand that not all supporters want their neighbours to fail and you can't tar all people with the same brush. But you also can't tell me there aren't quite a few who do. It's hardly a shock conclusion is it? Generally I've realised that the majority of posters who come on here aren't in the above category but don't deny they exist just because you aren't wishing anyone ill. It's quite nice in my World by the way just for info .

Europe is fun for a bit but the competition should be scrapped and merged with the Champions League. Group stages are boring, Dropping Champions League qualifying losers to the Europa League is stupid. Run it like the FA Cup - lower down teams like us plus others from smaller leagues enter in the early stages, then bring the big guns in later. If a club like Midtjylland does well they can earn a shot at beating Barcelona.

 

I wonder which Norwich City FC turn up at St.Fairy's tomorrow? The Scummers could make it to mid table if the canaries are not up for it, or will the Scummers slump deeper into the mire of the relegation zone? I shall watch out for the final result with some interest, because I think you all know what sort of otcome would please SB3 and indeed most blue bloods..........

 

I don't mind you cheering for Norwich, but I would take exception to you or any other Pompey fan cheering on Chelsea or Manchester United against us as I am sure there are many "fans" of these two clubs who live near you. Indeed, you probably work with the "United" fan who comes from Portsmouth. Wouldn't it be great if you could say to him, "Couldn't even beat the Sc******, then?
