Do the clubs get a share of the gate at Wembley or just the same amount of money for getting there whoever goes?
Sounds like this dispute is over potentially dodgy claims for grants and funding by Waltham on behalf of the club which no one else knew about until recently - apparently. As well as the confusion over his claims to owning the ground. Sounds like serious legal matters. I've always liked Waltham but it's starting to look a lot like he's the one in the wrong here. Bit of a Duffen type situation. Also I spoke to someone from the committee at Hall Road who was at United's game tonight and confirmed the suggestion that they've offered a temporary ground share but by the sound of it it couldn't possibly last very long and they don't have floodlights anyway (mind you Dene Park doesn't have them sometimes...). He also said there's no issue between the clubs (although their chairman didn't get on with Waltham) and they chose to move out of Dene Park because of a struggle getting a long term lease which is apparently required by the league and because United never had one either, they could now lose their place in the league.
oh, that old piece of ****e. you're a walking cliche. and that's another one ticked off on my cliche bingo card.
I am not having a go at you when I say this. If something sounds too good to be true, that's because it may be just too good to be true. It comes as no surprise that he may have been applying for grants such as lottery money. The one thing that should be considered is that he may have been acting in good faith and was driven by his desire to keep his promises not by personal gain. Will you stop liking him? I am also surprised that HU are still locked out of Dene Park as if my understanding of lease forfeiture is correct unless rent is outstanding, notice has to be given and even if rent was owed I think he acted too soon. There is far more to the relationship between Dene Park Holdings and Waltham than meets the eye.
According to Curtis, there's going to be an announcement on a resolution to the ground issue on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Suggestions today were that it might be Craven Park. I wouldn't like that from a selfish point of view. There was also talk of some new backers who 'will come as a surprise to us' and whom wouldn't get involved whilst Jamie Waltham was at the club. And before anyone says it, no it's not them.
People are judged on the information known at the time and what they are know to have done in the past. When new information comes to light opinions of people can change. A bit like when people thought Mr Allam was a nice guy for saving Hull City but changed their opinion of him due to his actions after that.
Not on here. They're judged on the first sniff of anything, before any information is actually available.
And some judge and then refuse to accept any information which doesn't fit in with their perceptions.
Agreed. They jump to conclusions and make their minds up before any facts are known, purely speculation. Even when the facts are known, they still continue in this vein. I guess it fits their agendas, even though they deny they have them. Quite sad really.
From the sound of it, Duffen would be a better comparison. Seems he had a great idea and loads of ambition but got a bit carried away with it all.
It is. Some people decided Allam was a wonderful guy, giving a gift to the people of Hull. Then they refuse to accept that is incorrect despite all the information and evidence to show otherwise. BTW, it isn't agendas. it is agenda which is the plural of agendum. (One of those things I learnt when doing Latin. And the origin of the word Fascist. Though ignorant people like Mr Hat think people have to google this information as they assume everyone is as ill-informed as themselves).
I've heard it's a group of ex-city players. With Ash as chairman it could be Deano, France et al (although I'm pretty sure Deano isn't as well off as he used to be). Or it could be somebody totally out of the blue (much more likely). Like Geovanni. Or Matt Glennon.
It wouldn't be Deano since he's in bed with the Allams and it certainly won't be Geovanni. We did wonder about ex players but I don't think any of those names are likely.
