I think his frustrations come in that they aren't progessing as much as they should be. They're basically still last bar Manor and by this time of the season, they should be mid field at minimum. He knows he'd be stupid to quit at the end of this year, as he knows the team has potential, but that's all it's got, potential. I think he's just annoyed that his two biggest rivals for "best of the current era" have had some of the best cars ever created and are getting championships just by showing up and it's going to show he's not as good as he actually is.
Is it possible Red Bull already have an engine for next year? I mean they have been working very closely and bank rolling Ilmor for the last year or so. Have they built an engine? Were they looking for VW to badge it and invest into it? Renault were not very happy with the Ilmor collaboration. Did they see the bigger picture? El_Jordan
It's not legit, the guy's got other designs on his feed that he's made himself. Looks sick though, would be the best livery on the grid in my opinion. Obviously the Total branding would ruin it like it did the JPS style Lotuses.
I really hope he goes. It would be great to see him in WEC and he isn't really an asset to F1 while he's trailing round at the back.
Ferrari have declined to supply Red Bull engines for next season. They are left with Honda, or asking Renault for engines. Ferrari still are OK with supplying engines for Toro Rosso According to this: http://www.crash.net/f1/news/223922/1/red-bull-engine-crisis-worsens-after-ferrari-rejection.html
I think Red Bull will use this year's Ferrari engine. It would be too expensive for them to pull out at such short notice, Milton Keynes is a valuable facility and it would be reduced almost to worthlessness if they just wound it up. In time I think they'll look at running other motorsport or engineering projects out of there.
Funny to see red bull begging. I thought Bernie didn't like beggars? Mercedes won't supply them because of the nasty work during pirelli-gate. Ferrari don't want to supply them because they have been trying to out do them through their history. Poor old trolls now find themselves with no friends. I'm sad to lose 4 cars but not sad to lose them
For me it just shows that the engine manufacturers have no intention of supplying equal PU's to any realistic competitor. We've seen it with the engine upgrades and we're seeing it now with RB supply or non supply.
2016 they will only have 1 engine homologated. So then you only have lower power via software and fuel optimisation. FIA need to force all PU software and allowed modes to be same on all engines provided by each manufacturer and limit exotic fuels.
It reminds me a lot of the tyre war in the early 2000's. We're effectively down to two engine suppliers now, meaning a split down the grid, but then to make it worse the works teams have better equipment than the customers, similar to the special tyres Ferrari used to get from Bridgestone. The sport's in a sorry state right now.
So much for Goodyear and Bridgestone then, Pirelli for 4 more years. Bit of a surprise, but to be fair to Pirelli, they did what they were asked to do
Pirelli should just make the tyres they want to. They get moaned at for doing as asked so they might as well do it their own way.
I can't believe Pirelli have been kept for another ten years. The amount of appalling press they get I'm surprised they outbid Michelin, which is what it will have come down to. The FIA should've stepped in and rejected their bid, they could easily have done it on safety grounds given the amount of blowouts they've been having and their refusal to acknowledge any fault with their product.
