I just read this on nufc blog, obviously its all about the fat man and wether he wants to sell or not and thats that really. I dont think Cheik will want to go just as he didnt before the season.. Hopefully its just lazy journo.. we get our first loss, he wasn't playing, bringing up an old story as well .. easy story really.

  5. If you continue to do well, you really cannot expect the big boys to sit idly by. Tiote and Ba are going to be the two players who will leave your club, either in January or in the Summer.

All depends on how well we continue to do, I dont think for a second we'll finish top 4 but we should be thinking about Europa, which could be enough to tempt them to stay.

As it stands at the moment on current form, we ARE one of the big boys <ok>

Wasn't there this rumour in the summer as well? I think I'll worry about it if things start to develop in January.

£20m, no chance. Ashley will start to listen at a STARTING BID of £25m+.

And Hoddle is a God, suppose the same applies to you. If you don't qualify for the CL then goodbye Modric.

Didn't Cheik already turn Chelsea down because he 'hates living in big cities'?

Well as far as I'm concerned that rumour has as much legs as a story in the mirror. So I'm not worried until Jan.

I think this would be the one to really determine if we are actually a 'selling club'.

The outgoings last summer and in January were all fairly reasonable IMO; Carroll was a ridiculous amount of dosh, Nolan had lost his legs and wanted a long contract, Barton was a disruptive presence and Jose wanted out.

However Tiote is on a long contract, happy as he is, playing well, and £20 million isn't a ridiculously inflated price like Carrolls. Unfortunately, I can see Ashley accepting it :(

Every player has a price and every club is a selling club. I do know what you mean though, and it does still worry me.

    As long as
    1) The money is huge
    2) The money is paid upfront
    3) The money is reinvested on a player equal to or with potentional surpassing Tiote (eg. Cabaye or Santon) for less money
    4) The rest of the money goes on further players

I'd accept it with the odd teary/drunken rant!

Lazy journalism. Their midfielders: Essien, Romeu, Ramires, Lampard, Mikel, Meireles, McEachran.

If they're going to sign a new midfielder it'll be someone like Modric who can get forward more.

Can't see it unless Essiens injury is career threatening. At some point they'll come but you can bet Liverpool, Man U, Man C and Arsenal will be with them. I think he is happy at present and will see out the season barring 25m coming on the table. Depends on Ashley but anything over 25m I think he'll accept. I just hope some of our fans don't do what they usually do and start slating him if he does go. If the club accept an offer and tell him they wish to sell, he has little choice.
