Who would win one wonders. I quite fancy as I have said before going to see The Iron Lady being a big fan of Maggie and Meryl Streep. I was surfing the interweb yesterday and came across a review that said it was absolute horse manure but then found out it was one of the Daily Mail tossers. Shan't be taking any notice of that then. Surprised to hear that War Horse has already been a big success on Broadway. Didn't know that. However I get a bit fed up with Spielbergs "epics". Sentimental codswallop usually. I'll maybe give it a go though. Anyone else?
Apparently The Iron Lady is about the old cow's descent into madness and portrays her slowly turning into a vegetable. Sounds quite good.
Apparently War Horse has been turned into sentimental codswallop. Although I love Maggie dearly there's no way i'd go and see a movie about her.
Is there a porn version where Maggie takes it up the ****ter from a huge horse? At least two dozen Not606ers would run out of Kleenex if there was.
Is that an invite? If you pay my entry fee (fnarr fnarr) I am willing to meet up but be warned, I never swallow on a first date
The reviews I've seen of The Iron Lady say it focuses too much on her losing her marbles, and not enough on the big issues of her career. I wouldn't touch Spielberg's sugary, schmaltzy movie with a bargepole.
Yes Tarquin but it will be nice to see this human side of a much misunderstood lady who did so much for so many. I think it should be a brave portrayal of a warm hearted, vulnerable and loving wife and mother who needed loved herself.
please log in to view this image The day she resigned. A great day and funny as **** watching her cry her heart out. I remember it well (which is more than she can!)
Actually to be fair to the old bat she was bound to get in by a landlide in 1979 given the state of the country that Labour had us in. Running off to the IMF with our tails between our legs. Strikes, three day weeks, rubbish everywhere on our streets, bodies not being buried, winter of discontent. The likes of Chippy Minton, Dev and myself remember only all too well. I don't know if things have changed in Swansea right enough.
No they weren't really. Labour totally ruined us as a country. I get the impression you are one of these New Labour types, a sort of poor man's Tory essentially.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. I'm not Labour or Tory. I just know my political history and don't fall for the spin from the right wing press that Labour were solely responsible for the problems of the 1970s. After all, the strikes, the three day weeks etc. were occuring when the Tories were in power.
