Liverpool fans truly believed they were getting Defoe!!!!!

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Feb 1, 2012.

  1. Some numpty pretending to work at John Lennon airport conned the Mousers into believing that Defoe was spotted arriving at Klanfield, and it sparked one of the greatest cases of mass delusion I have ever witnessed, even by Mouser standards.

These quotes are from a thread started last night on the Mousers’ board, before the Spurs game. The thread mooted the possibility that Defoe was on his way to Klanfield, and we get another classic glimpse of the delusion that grips the Mickeys. They really cannot help themselves <doh>

Enjoy this moment of pure comedy gold-dust...

Actually, pal, I think you’re the only one speaking bollocks, to be fair.

Nope, I got that wrong! Here’s another Mouser speaking utter bollocks, too!

They've got more chance of signing Willem Defoe.

  4. I love the bit where one of the Mousers says "would also get him from one of the rivals."

This is delusional in so many ways.

    Let me explain.

Firstly, no, you won't "get him"! He isn't and never was for sale, you numpty <doh> Or did you honestly believe that we would sell our leading goal-scorer at a time when we are making a concerned bid for the title?

Secondly, we are not "one of the rivals." You are desperately trying to catch Chelsea, and in a battle with Arsenal, for 4th. We are comfortable in 3rd, fighting for the title. Your rivals are Chelsea, Arsenal and the Toon, possibly also Everton and Stoke. Our rivals are United and £ity.

The list of delusion is endless.

We all knew Pav was the only one leaving but you can understand them getting it wrong on deadline day. There's so much bullshit flying around, some of it's bound to stick.

  6. To be fair, there were a couple of Mousers with commonsense, who refused to be drawn into the delusion, and who correctly understood that Saha was a direct replacement for the ineffectual Pav.

Two out of about a million Mousers isn't bad for them, I suppose.

  8. That's as may be, Gaff, but it didn't stop your fellow Mousers creaming their pants at the prospect of landing the England goal-machine.

Yup, can't argue with that, Carroll's 7 goals in 12 months at Klanfield is definitely a sign of quality <diva>

I must admit I thought there was a chance we may have signed Defoe, and to be honest I am very, very glad we didnt.

Why, hes not good enough, we should be looking at MUCH higher quality than Defoe in the summer, plus hes a lot nearer the end of his career than the start, and he would have been very overpriced

Relief we didnt get him, pheww!!!!

Was hopeful we may have signed Tevez on a short term loan, as he does represent REAL quality, but with Luis,Bellers and both Andy n Dirk starting to show there best form we should be ok

I love how 1 goal for Carroll and Kuyt represents 'form'.

2 from Kuyt in the last 2 games <whistle>. and yes, a goal from Carroll does represent form.
