Think you would have been sectioned if you told people he would be spearheading Tottenhams title challenge in 2012!

Done a complete 180 ain't he.
We'll be cursed without him now lol.
Carlsberg don't make forum posters, but if they did... It wouldn't be me
Think of all the abuse from Chavs, Gooners and Mickey Mousers that we used to endure over that particular issue!
Not any more, though![]()

On the topic of Bale - check out my very first post on BBC 606:

I like to think he read that and thought 'F*** you Moorpheus' and decided to become amazing![]()

Rooney > Bale
Aguero = Bale
Silva < Bale
Sturridge < Bale
RVP = Bale
That's my opinion, of course.
Having said that, if any of those players were in the current Spurs squad, they would not look like fishes out of water. That shows the strength and balance we have, at present.

Rooney
Aguero
Silva
Sturridge
RVP[/QUOT
With all things considered, then no i honestly wouldnt swap him for any of the other players above.
I think Rooney, although I do rate him can and has gone completely off boil(very annoying as he is in my dream team)
Aguero is in his first season and although has done well I dont think he influences the game as Bale does.
Silva is a World class player, however, he is very similar to Modric so would I swap him for Bale......No
Sturridge has great potential but not in the same league as Bale yet.
RVP is probably the only one I would even think twice about however, probably still no. I think he is in his prime now and probably only a few seasons at his very best left in him, although has stayed fit this season he is a little injury prone, at his age would he fully recover from another long term injury?
Bale is probably still 3-4 years from his Prime. Now that is a scary thought, just how good could he get?
That 2nd goal of his last night was pure class. I doubt there's more than one or two players on the face of the planet who could have done that.
It's difficult to say of course who you would swap him for out of that list because you're not really comparing like for like. He's easily the best left winger in the Prem, probably one of the best in Europe, and is hugely important to the way we play.
If we had one of those other players in our team I would imagine we would play a different style of football.

Previously known as SuperPav9 before his tragic departure
I wouldn't swap him for anyother player in the league, the scary thing is that there's still much more to come from him![]()
Once known as Schteffen
Surely it depends on your team?
Niko is decent enough cover for Bale so he wouldnt be toooo big a miss. Whereas an RVP or Aguero is the kind clinical striker your team needs?
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we have to keep both Moddy and Bale, if we are ever to amount to a serious title-winning side.
Rather than look to swap players, we should be looking to get those other players in, to make us stronger.

Its not so much what he can do, we all know that, he must scare the living **** out of every defence that he faces, its the uncertainty he puts in their minds how to play against him, rather than playing their own game.
All those named are different types of players and bring different assets to their teams. Rooney, Silva and RvP are essential to their teams; none play their best game without them. The same can be said of Bale now.
With his pace, directness and new found ability to score goals, the question is whether he could become as good a player as Cristiano Ronaldo.
I seriously think he could LDL, remember he is still only 22, he has all the attributes needed, height, power, pace and skill.
We are even starting to see him being played in the "free" role and he has scored 12 goals already this season.
From a Utd point of view, would you swap Rooney for Bale at the moment???
'Allow me to tickle your catastrophe'
'Evil to him who evil thinks'
'My enemy's enemy is my friend'
My Spurs shopping list :- Al Habsi of Wigan
Ever Banega of Valencia to replace Modders if he goes.
Luke - I did think of a similarity to CR, in open play yes, equally devastating, but I think CR edges it with heading ability, and as for deadball kicking, no-one comes close to CR, and they must account for say 5-10 goals a season. I'd like to see Bale get 5-10 on target!![]()
