Having a brilliant ACON and I for one am looking forward to him coming back into the squad . Suits our style a lot more and can bring players like Sturridge and Mata into the game a lot more than Torres can and I honestly believe Drogba could be the difference between us making 4th or not with his experience and style!

On the negative side of this, what do we do with Nando for the rest of this season? Because I imagine Drogs will be leaving at the end.

don't see why we can't give a 4-4-2 with Torres and Drogba a try, if only for a game or two

    ---Torres---Drogba---

    -------Mata-------

    Ramires --- Meireles

    -------Romeu-------
"There was some footage of Stewart where he was, from 30 yards away, kicking a ball into five different trash cans and it was brilliant. John and I said, 'Oh my God, this player is brilliant, we've got to figure out a way to make a deal with him.'"
The American duo later discovered the footage had been doctored but the excitement at Downing’s arrival remained

Maybe, if we beat Birmingham and get an easier opposition in the FA Cup we could try it there. But where does Sturridge fit in?!

I think a word in the ear is all Sturridge needs and a greedy person is what we need! He's been the only impact threat on goal we've had all season!

I'd even be inclined to try Mata behind Sturridge!

Nah but I'll give MOTD a blast. Malouda should've been off though.

That would be best. Always wanted to see Sturridge play as the main striker. He has pace and has far more confidence than Torres has at the moment. Even though Torres can deliver a sublime cross.

When you look at this line up you wonder why Bertrand hasn't had a run out. Equally Piazon will warm the bench like Josh did. Point is we DO have options to up the pace and passion, they just never get picked. Still think the dead hand of Abramovich is involved in the team selections. He just can't bear to see all those weekly wages going to players watching from the sidelines. A form of self destruction if ever there was.

Great point about youngsters. We keep buying all these young players from all and sundry but few get a chance.
Not a great fan of Sturridge. Too greedy and most of his shots are dragged wide.

To be fair Sturridge is only 22 i dont understand why so much inpatience with the young lad. He does a great job wide, he should be aiming to help the team/club in any way possible, currently we need him there.

The way its looking Torres either wont be at the club or wont be playing next season anyway as he seems incapable of playing like a lone striker. He constantly pulls out wide. Granted other strikers at the club do it (I say others but we only have drogba playing that position really) but he scores. So if they arent getting in the game then they can do this to get the ball, but Torres then stays wide or deep and refuses it seems to get into the centre of the penalty area where our lone striker should be.... Drogba manages to drop deep, pull wide get the ball and still end up in the danger area.

Torres to me does not look like a striker, patience is so thin now i couldnt care less. He is supposed to be a world class striker, then he should be able to create stuff himself from the front. Other world class strikers do it, nuff said. Drogba has one season left (probably) so Sturridge is in line to be our main guy, he just needs to be patient and concentrate on playing. Not sure about Lukaku (I reckon Sturridge and Lukaku could play in a 4-4-2 but whether it would get tested instead of treating Mourinho's formation as Gospel remains to be seen)
