But I just found out forest also use "mull of kintyre". Just wondering if you guys know whether any other teams have adopted it?
I've never been to the city ground- but don't remember them singing it at the valley?

Er - haven't a clue...![]()
Redheads - do we need any other hair colour?
Forest been signing it for years, not sure who came up with it first though!
www.cafc4ever.co.uk check it out, you might like it!
Yeh Forest have definitely been singing it for a few years now.
I remember going to the City Ground when we were last in the Championship and both clubs were singing our own versions as the Mull of Kintyre was played out just before the teams came back on the pitch after Half-Time.
Was extremely difficult to sing to though I found as the Mull of Kintyre is sung much slower than Valley Floyd Road (and I prefer our version)

If IA drags himself away from hooters, he might inform us of who had it first.
As long as no-one else has "Red Red Robin"

Pretty certain we've had it for a lot longer than Forrest, but I'm sure someone will enlighten us.
Chrissy Powell's Red Army!

So is it just us and forest? I listened to their version on YouTube.. Not impressed.
Is it just me or has VFR not been so prevalent in recent games? I've not heard the second verse sung for ages. Or are we just all too tense to sing?

I wouldn't be opposed to us dropping 'red red robin' I think it is a bit naff
I wonder if Cheltenham use it?

All Hell, I don't suppose you remember the rucus when there was a rumour that we were going to drop red red robin. Some years ago now but it certainly caused some feeling to be vented. I was among those at the time, and I feel it would be thew wrong move since it is something that certainly sets us apart from other clubs.
Apart from that when I was a kid my old man had the original Billy Cotton 78rpm shellac disc of RRR and I for one tend to sing along because it something that means something to me on that front as well. Seem to remember being told that Billy Cotton senior was a supporter and that is the link to the song. For those to young to know, Billy Cotton Senior was a British big band leader during and after the second world war and his son Billy Cotton Junior became head of light entertainment at the BBC, which may have influenced them in to giving one of his other relatives, Fran Cotton, a job.
Get rid of the Red Red Robin - no - it would be like ground sharing.

Now then my thoughts on 'Red Red Robin' are .......
Sorry, another Cotton
