There have been numerous of these types of articles recently. I just read one and found it interesting. Despite making some good points however I am still against usmanove despite his affiliations with dein. People must realise however the board underwent a significant overhaul post 2005 and we were always going to become at least on a temporary basis a selling club. However we are losing our reputation as an international brand hence rendering an adverse on our long term business prospect as well as on field problems. oh and the article is pretty long so make sure you have time!

Really interesting article, thanks for posting.

Going to sit and read it all again, but basically confirms what I've thought for years, that Hill-Wood is holding our club back, not Wenger.
The sooner the old fart is put out to pasture and we can get David Dein back, then we can get back to being a winning club <ok>

Kroenke will be a very bad businessman if he will keep all those old farts. Why on earth does he need a 77 y.o. "yes" man on the board of directors, pocketing over half a million a year for doing nothing? The old fart's job is just being Hill Wood friend. This is outrageous. Kroenke needs people who will work, not a cosy old boys chain. All those barons and sirs should be kicked out and replaced with efficient managers/executives.

Bring back David Dein. He was one of the only people on the board who actually understood how football worked, the rest were old Etonian schoolboys, good at business, not much else.

Do you think it's any coincidence that since Dein was fired by Hill wood, that we've won **** all and all our best players have been sold ?

Very, very interesting article, well done CB. It shows what is wrong not just with Arsenal, but the whole UK.
Privileged numpties, who haven't a clue making complete **** up's and closing ranks when they get found out.
Hill-Woods father was a good chairman, who loved the club, the present chairman is an idiot who likes to prove how powerful he is by making stupid remarks.

If you look at the postings on this board, it is evident that there is a lot of frustration with Kroenke, Gazidis and Hill-Wood the way they treat us supporters is shocking, I feel like a medieval serf being thrown some scraps by the Lord of the Manor.

My views and concerns count for nothing, I am being patronised constantly and am expected to keep lining the Yanks coffers with my hard earned.

This is the last summer that I will search everyday for news via the media, if the Board can't be bothered with the fans, we cannot continue to keep them in place.

    Vive la revolution!

I'm not at all surprised. Apart from some real detail - most has been fairly guessable.

    I'm with you Balham <ok>

And you're right, Dennis Hill Wood was a good chairman. But our board has changed significantly since we last won a trophy, the biggest loss is Dein. I will never forgive PHW for ousting him over Kronke and then doing a massive u-turn and bringing in into the club when realised that Usmanov might displace him as chairman (or install someone else, probably Dein)

I just hope this makes people realise that Wenger (although not perfect) is not the problem at Arsenal. He is the one keeping it from all falling apart to be honest and the guy deserves some more respect from our fans.

Good article mate. I disagree with Piskie though, Wenger has to take some blame. Hill-wood is a clown though. Business is murky all over the world, not just Uzbekistan. He'd rather us be run by a guy who's using us to improve his credit rating, than a guy who is willing to invest money in the club.

I'm not saying that Wenger hasn't made mistakes. But I think he has kept the club in contention, despite the board selling our best players and not reinvesting the money in the squad. imo without Wenger, we'd already be out of the Top 4

Very interesting article and something that highlights the dodgy antics carried out by Hill-Wood. Whats sad is it takes a fan to write a good piece of investigative journalism. Why wasn't this written in a proper newspaper?

The points he went over largely explains the problems faced by Arsenal. Rather than booing Wenger or the players, we should start protesting against the board. Start bringing awareness about their dodgy dealings and profiteering? Try to change things in a positive way as opposed to constant complaining why Wenger isn't buying anyone.

Kick out Hill-Wood, bring back Dein!!!!

That's all very well but the Board don't pick the team or play in the matches. That's down to the manager, to get the best out of the team he has got.

Wenger has to man up and get the team some backbone and decent tactics so we don't keep losing to to newly promoted cubs every season and bottling out at the business end of the season. He gets exactly the respect he deserves which to be honest is sometimes not a lot. Don't forget our season ticket money pays his wages.

Well if it was down to Wenger, he'd still be picking Flamini, Fabregas and Nasri or maybe Mata and Alonso. The board have screwed us over on all of those players. The manager can only work with what he's got. Like I said, there are still areas where wenger can improve, but he has been hamstrung by a stingy board.
