So it is confirmed, Martin Allen is now the manager of Gillingham FC, good choice or not I hope he is successful. http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10416~2832903,00.html
I believe that he will be a good manager as long as he can get on with Hess, he will lay down the law with the players and will expect 200%.
Haha, it was always going to be hoadie... Best of luck to Martin Allen. Hopefully (as somebody said on one of the other threads) he can drag us kicking and screaming back in to league one. Just to get a general consensus - Mad Dog? or Bad Dog?
Not pleased by the appointment but will get behind him no matter. Think he needs to make a big signing to get fans on board who doubt him, McLeod tomorrow afternoon or something along those lines would be appreciated.
That would make it a good week if Izale was to join us, would be a great addition to the team, then the attack would be great, Miller, Birchall, Keds and McLeod would be great to have then we would probably need someone else as a back up aswell, maybe take a risk on a young non league striker.
Well done to Born Again Gill, Gillsmad and vinney who received there choice of manager, as per the not606 'Vote your choice for Gills Manager' way back on the 10th May. Edit: Will Born Again now renew his season ticket?
I hope he at least completes a season and gets us promoted, if things are going well hopefully there will be nothing to argue about.
Apart from Notts and Leicester ,his appointments have been to struggling sides which he has improved. I think he's come to a side that is 75% there so with a few astute signings and with his fitness regeme and tactical knowledge, we should be around the top come May. There have been legit reasons why he has left previous clubs,so hopefully he'll stay with us.
I have always like Martin Allen because of how outspoken he is and I think he can change us for the good, just hope he gets a good level of control at the club, good luck to him, hopefully there will be a few new signings next week.
The process has been so long and drawn out that i am really not bothered either way, it has all become very boring! Was busy at time when it was announced on Sky Sports and barely looked up at the TV! Good luck to him, i wish him all the best and hope the fans get behind him UTG
This was my opening post on the New Manager thread . http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/143505-New-Manager Dear fans - I'd like to say thank you to all those who took part in the thread. I'm sorry that some of you ended up deranged, whilst others were deluded. I should actually be disappointed that so many of you failed to realise that I told you the answer in the first post - yet you failed to believe - well - doubt no more whenever I speak - however my divinity permits me to forgive you all. always, always, alwaysright, always, alwaysright. edit - you should have realised this morning - when I changed my avatar in readiness for my greatness.
Yeah always right, I remember you said that straight away and I thought about him straight away as you can see from my post but I thought we would not get him as he would stay at Barnet, so I thought it would be a non league manager but it turns out we got the Mad dog, that is why I am happy.
Welcome Martin and Good Luck to you! May you soon be the fifth name on the list of managers who have rescued us from the 'Slough of Despond' that is Div 2. ( Cox/Nelson/ Pulis/Stimson and ........)
