I have been an optimist and pro Hughes (well, anti sacking him anyway) but this little bit of research has got me worried. I heard somewhere that in the last seven years, the club at the bottom (possibly at Christmas??) was only relegated two out of seven times. I took some consolation from that until.... Here are the bottom clubs for the second week in October for the last 10 years, together with their fate. Those with faint hearts, please look away now. 12.10.2 Hammers R 11.10.3 Wolves R 9.10.4 Norwich R 8.10.5 Everton NOT R 7.10.6 Charlton R 6.10.7 Derby R 11.10.8 Spurs Not R 10.10.9 Pompey R 9.10.10 Hammers R 8.10.11 Bolton R We are not Everton or Spurs. Obviously this is a complex scenario and I think we would all agree that the quality of players we have exceeds that of some of the teams above. Thus far I have taken the view that so long as one win takes out of the drop zone, we can make up ground. History is against that stance. I am not a doom merchant generally but those who don't learn from history have to repeat the mistakes made in history. I hope it is not too late for QPR this season. An unlikely win against Everton would go a long way to help.
It doesnt mean a thing or wed be hoping for a couple of wins now and then be bottom at xmas and that should see us safe.
The real crunch comes in mid January if you have MH or not The problem is if you are in the bottom 3 then, you are definitely in **** street.
I think we should slaughter some chickens and examine their entrails. 'A lesson from history'.......had me going there RTID, thought it would be a thread proving Hughes was a Nazi.....
lol.Knew one of the people involved in making that series and they very kindly gave me a full set, albeit on VHS tape. Certainly puts football in perspective.
Better than I thought, only an 80% probability of being relegated. Hughes out now, to wait is financially insane given the TV money.

There's something really stomach churning about that photo above... Not just a **** manager but a ****ing wrongmo with it.
QPR have got a better set of players than the other relegation candidates, but Hughes has no idea how to build a team. I don't think he has a system or style to work towards- all he wants is money to spend on new players. Get rid of him now, he would leave you in a heartbeat if a bigger club came in- he is obsessed with his legacy, doesn't have the interests of the club at heart. We were in a similar position to you are now when he first came to Fulham, things looked very bad at Christmas- following a defeat to West Ham there were Hughes out chants. After that he basically adopted Hodgson's old system and players and our form picked up. He's not got that option at QPR- he will have to continue with his flawed system (I don't think he even looks at the opposition team sheet when selecting players and a formation). I don't think he will evolve much as a manager- too arrogant and set in his ways with a huge chip on his shoulder since Man City.
