Fellow QPR supporters and not606 members, I have a proposal for your consideration.

As you're all aware, we have a game against our rivals Chelsea on Wednesday night. Despite the proximity of both Clubs to one another and a large number of fans from the same community, there has been a regrettable lack of harmony between both sets of fans in recent years. Cheap insults and taunts have become the norm and have soured relations between the two Clubs considerably. This is a lamentable situation and one which has been allowed gradually develop over the years without check nor censor. It is time that action is taken and this matter is redressed once and for all, not only for the betterment of all current fans of both Clubs but for the upcoming generations that follow us. It is with this in mind that I propose the following initiative:

    "A Bridge to the Bridge"

"A Bridge to the Bridge" is a cross-Club program that would be set up to facilitate the coming together of Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers fans in a spirit of mutual respect and reconciliation. Initially, inter-Board communication would be encouraged with the hope of long lasting friendships being forged and with the ultimate goal of recreating the spirit of the sixties where when one Club played away, the fans that didn't travel would instead go and support the other Club who were playing at home.

For such an initiative to have any chance of succeeding, it would be necessary to have a coordinator from both Boards to help fans communicate and develop a rapport with one another. The coordinator would act as a kind of "go between" for supporters of both Clubs who wish to avail of this program. This ambassadorial type position would require someone with strong personal skills, a deep rooted respect for the history and traditions of Chelsea and QPR and a willingness to promote, nurture and assist in the progress of an unbreakable bond between our two great Clubs.

As per the democratic process, I would welcome anyone who feels they have the capacity and dexterity to take on this role, to submit their names to this thread and a vote taken by all Board members to decide which candidate it should be. If however there are no applications, I would like to propose myself for this post as I'm confident I have the necessary expertise to carry out the functions required. I believe not being a local QPR fan gives me a distinct advantage in that I haven't got any of the baggage that can be accumulated through years of parochial antagonism between both sets of localised supporters. The Chelsea Board will also appoint a suitable counterpart.

I have had a number of discussions with the Chelsea Moderators (DL and Drogs) through a series of private correspondences and I'm delighted to say that they have been very enthusiastic about this venture right from the beginning and have given their full backing to the project. I'm also looking forward to discussing at length with our own Moderators (Brix and NUTS), the diplomatic implications of this outreach for cross-Board harmony and general good will. I'm confident that they too will see the immediate advantages of having such an enterprise in place, for the benefit and inclusion of all.

Gentlemen (and Beth and Flyer), its time we put our petty differences aside and rather focus on what unites the Blues and the R's, and look forward to a bright future of Football kinship in West London.

    Yours sincerely,
    Swords.

That is truly your best Wind up EVER Swords :).

And if it isn't a wind up and you are serious.....then I'm honestly doubting your loyalty to our club.

    Likewise Brix.

I've always quite liked QPR, my early days supporting Chelsea was when we had Gavin Peacock, John Spencer and Paul Furlong in the team all of whom went on to be QPR players so I always wished them well and in essence wanted QPR to do well. Plus having spent large chunks of my childhood in West London I'd always want the 4 teams (although Chelsea and Fulham are SW) to do well anyway.
