What a performance from him last night, it was nice to see the commentators and pundits giving him the credit he finally deserves, he's kept us in the tie, there's no doubt about that, without his saves last night, we could've lost 5-1, that was our visit to the Bernabeu in 10 years and we lost 3-1 back then, i would've took the 1-1 draw if you had asked me, we were playing one of the favourite to win the champions league. If De Gea can keep up that kind of performance up which he has all the ability to do, then i can see him being one of the best keepers in europe either next season or the one after, i've backed him ever since he joined us and seeing that performance last night made me glad i did, we're lucky to have him and i wanted us to get him when we were first linked with him back in 2010, he's only 22 years old, he's got another 10-15 years with us, also i can't think of any keeper who was world-class at his age.

also this thread is to all the doubters who thought he was **** and no i'm no judging it on one performance, i've watched for the last 3 years and while he was with us, the press and pundits said that he's a **** keeper, i tell you what, if that was Joe Hart, they would be ****ing themselves silly this morning, onto De Gea, i hope the media have finally realised how good he is.

I was wondering how long it would take you to do a De Gea thread.
He is a decent goalie, a few errors in his time but still very young, especially for a keeper, he will have a good 15 years left in his career.
In 5 years I think he will be as good as any other keep in Europe.

Also Meth, I wouldnt go so far as to call him world class right now to be honest, that may be jumping the gun a bit.
    In 5 years certainly.

Very gracious of the Chelsea fans to spend so much time on our forum discussing the Real v United tie. Especially when they have their own big European game this afternoon/evening.

I would, he could be in our top 3-4 goalkeepers we've ever had if he keeps that performance up.

Shut it you two!! :p It was only last year that the tables were turned. Hopefully you or Arsenal will be able to emulate us and go on to win it tho!
We need to equal La Liga on EC's won, they are on 13 we are on 12.

You cant say that, whilst they are in it, they can win it.
No one thought we would win it last season, or that Liverpool *spit* would win it in 2005 or Porto in 2004.
Or Greece winning the Euros.....it may well happen

I feel pretty confident in saying that they won't win it, they aren't good enough going forward to outplay the best teams in Europe and they certainly can't defend anywhere near good enough to do what Chelsea done last year, or Greece in the Euros, they don't even have the fight that Liverpool had in '05.

Arsenal can't win it, regardless of wether there in it. I know Chelsea were well written off last season, but the one thing Chelsea could do was absorb pressure from superior 'footballing' sides like Barca and Bayern.

Arsenal cannot defend for there lives when there backs against the wall:biggrin:

The best part is the haters is when the haters have to suffer whilst De Gea proves them wrong. IMO, the BPL will help him master the control of his box. And he'll be defo the top goalie in the world. I recon Casillas should be worried about De Gea preventing him from getting to 200 caps.
