Not a Manchester United fan but the way SAF has dominated our game for the past 25 years is incredible. He has changed football for the better and is the greatest ever. He deserves some respect and so I feel all premiership teams should have a 1 minute silence for him this weekend.

If anyone (Liverpool, Man City etc) doesnt suitably honour this I feel they should be fined very heavily!

As much as your thread is honourable, you know for a fact you will get idiots posting ****, he is undoubtedly the most successful manager in British history, rubbed up plenty people the wrong way, rival fans hate him but apart from Liverpool no other club can compare to them achievements, just jealous people that's all.

This. I think if you had a minutes silence at OT, SAF would probably stand up and shout "I'm no ****in dead ya daft ****s!"

This thread is funny. We should all do the minutes silence only for a minute & a half or he'll start pointing at his watch.....

I don't think opposition fans should pay tribute unless they want to. I am certain that many will voice their feelings about Fergusson on Sunday. His career is remarkable and I appreciate his philosophies, however a minutes silence/applause would not be apt, where would we draw the line should Carragher, Phil Neville and Scholes have one too?

Can;t argue with that. The massive fees and wages he paid out after the Edwards share issue definitely changed the game.

Well people care more when the greats retire. Scholes is a far superior player to the other two <doh> Sisu, your just all bitter and twisted because nobody likes you and your team are in the shadow of its rivals

Who are people?<laugh> and why does your rating of Scholes demand more attention upon retirement? I would think being a good pro with a long career and playing for England would be enough to earn some respect.

Secondly, if I am bitter, why are you ranting and raving?

"Nobody likes me" <laugh> My team are a shadow of its rivals <laugh>

You are just too much fun<ok>

From a minutes silence for Fergie's retirement to teams should be fined if their supporters do not observe this lunacy of a suggestion you make<laugh> You are probably the dumbest on Not606 and given the rubbish HIAG comes out with, that takes some doing, well done<ok>

You say you don't support United yet your OP references Liverpool and City, the jig is up you numpty.

Thats because its a thread about Utd whose main rivals are City and next ones are liverpool you clown <doh> Are you not bored of being owned intellectually by me Sisu? haha

Scholes retiring is a bigger deal than Carragher or Neville because he was a far better player. What part of that dont you understand. Much like Zidane retiring was bigger than Jesper Blomqvist
