Andy Murray ended 77 years of waiting for a British male Wimbledon final winner on the 7/7, and is his 7th Grand Slam final. Errrm the last British female Wimbledon final winner was, Virginia Wade in...... '77 ! Just thought it was interesting.
Fair play to Andy Murray, he's donated his prize money of £1,600,000 to cancer research it was also that last time we won the league
https://twitter.com/_PaulHayward this chap reckons otherwise ... apparently he donated the money from Queens
Very generous of him. However, it has been reported that he will earn in excess of £100 million because of this feat. Sponsorship deals now for the rest of his life will shadow his on-court tournament earning from now until he retires. Wow !!!
Guess what it's going to be 78 before too long! This Hayward lad's unlikely to lie about it. Feel sorry for Murray. People's confusion will end up making him look bad when it's found out he hasn't donated it.
What's given you that impression? Would a gesture that big not have been picked up on/reported by now?
morning papers aren't printed yet, there is a media frenzy going on, everyone is trying to get the quote
It would be online by now mate. Bit odd that he's tweeting about some competition for Adidas and not addressing the twitter flurry about his winnings.
if the rumour isn't true then he's going to be made to look a right c*** by the social media-(even though he's supporting charities) wouldn't like to be in his shoes if its a bullshite story ...also takes the edge of his historic win
