Good morning all, my cousin Randy Hungwell from the US is over on a couple of weeks on a working holiday. He is a sports reporter on The Washington Post and asked me if he could give his views on Saturdays game....

" It was a real nice 'Fall' like day as I was walking down the Uxbridge Boulevard to see the Queens Power Rangers soccer franchise. This was my first ever visit to the Lofthouse Roadhouse Soccerbowl, and the team looked swell in their new uniforms. The opponents for this CPL tie were the Sheffield Steelers. This was the Rangers first game after being relegationized from the EPL after spending the whole of last season in the EPL disaster sector.

It was the poolball cueball headed soccer striker Angry Johanson who made an early play to get on the scorers board with a hot strike that was deflected for a free ball corner after some good work by the Steelers deefense. But it was the Steelers who took the lead with a power strike from Nehru after nineteen minutes. Robson Green was as slow as a grizzly bear coming out of hibernation in getting down to make the hand denial stop.

Then just before the semi phase completion whistle, the surprise pick on the starting playing roster Joey Righton set up a goal strike. JR Hoilet fired the ball into the danger zone and Onoutah tied up the tie with his equalization shot from the six yard marker.
Then unbelievably two minutes later awesome Angry Johanson inserted the soccer ball into the Steelers goal for a 2-1 scorline in favor of the Rangers.

In the second period the Rangers just needed to score once more and it would've been ' Goodnight Vienetta ' for the Steelers. Instead they had to endure some 'squeaky ass time' as the Steelers were denied a twelve yard death strike by the judge. Joey Righton nearly became douchebag of the day as he looked to have committed a felony in the 18 yard zone and was lucky not to receive the major offense card. Steelers head coach Davy Jones was jumping up and down on the sideline like a Monkee after the head judges call and the Steelers fans howled like owls from the bleachers.

A 50 yard Hail Mary from Joey Righton reached wide-receiver JR Hoilet who twisted like a sidewinder past 3 Steelers before Kirkmann their goal stopper made the denial. It was only the appearance of Steve Austin who just signed in the franchise enhancement window that bought any further cheer in this soccer tie. He kicked the ball with his head but it sailed over the bar meaning that this tie finished 2-1 to the Power Rangers at the completion whistle to secure the victory points.

This was a fun tie to watch and I think the Rangers will at least make the ' Elevation face-off spots.'

    All the best, Randy.

    :)

    I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Say "Hi" to Randy for me and thank him for his contribution. (Has he ever considered writing for the Daily Mail? He would fit right in.)

Love it ! Very impressive view from the other side of the world.
I'm currently waiting on a Chinese friend of mine who is also a mad RRRr'ssssss fan ................ Professor Lo Hun Phat, to write his thoughts of our great team.
I'm worried about his English but will endeavour to help out if he wishes.
    Thanks once again.

I took a Yank to a VÃ¥lerenga game here once. We stood right behind the goal in the home end, and despite the ball bulging the net 5 yards in front of us for a VÃ¥lerenga equaliser, everyone around us hugging each other, dancing up and down for 2/3 minutes, and singing heartily for a few more, he still turned round to me 5 minutes later and said "Don't worry, VÃ¥lerenga are gonna tie the match soon"!

    *facepalm*

That reminds me of a time in South Africa Road, when Rangers were shooting towards the Loft - it might have been Gallen who ruffled the side netting. Due to over indulgence in beer, I a) genuinely thought the ball had gone in, and so celebrated a 'goal', and b) did so just about when the keeper was putting the ball down to take a goal kick.

My mates sitting next to me got a kick out of it!
