There's probably zero interest in this so I won't be surprised if there's zero replies! Just wondering did any of the Irish or Australian boys watch the first test last night? Seemingly its only the second time in history that Australia has sent an all-indigenous sporting team abroad to represent their Country. Can anyone guess when the other time was? (Clue: English cricket fans might know this) The game itself was a bit flat and I'm hoping the second test next week will be a bit more feisty. It can be a great game to watch when both teams are going hell for leather. http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/international-rules/2013/1018/481164-international-rules/ http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/international-rules/2013/1019/481455-ireland-australia/
I have an interest in it Swords but didn't see any of it. I see Ireland won the first test by 22 points. If it becomes too one sided, it will be scrapped. I am still not sure whether the Aussies sending an all indigineous team is beneficial or not. It's all a bit like South Africa under apartheid.
Ireland were slightly more clinical in front of goal but other than that, there wasn't anything between them really. Australia had a gilt edge chance to bring it back to a 5 point gap in the third quarter but unbelievably the player managed to hit the crossbar from 5 yards out with no-one in goal! Had that of gone in it might have been different. There isn't a year that goes by that there isn't talk about it being scrapped. Its very hard to keep such a concept alive. In fact, its a testament to both associations that they've been able to keep it going for so long. I don't know mate. They seemed well up for it. They even did some sort of a Haka after a bloke played a Didgeridoo at the start. Not a common sight in Cavan!
Oi, a footie fan is a footie fan at the end of the day! ........................................ Right?
I know what you're sayin' mate. I couldn't stand Rugger a few years ago but now I love it. You've got to open your mind son. You've gotta feel the love. When all's said and done, we're all part of the same fraternity. A band of brothers if you will. Embrace your brother Ubes. Embrace him tightly and show him your love
