Sir Alex Ferguson has been publicly criticized by Swansea Manager Michael Laudrup who became the first ever Premier League manager to criticize him. He says that he is unhappy with Ferguson for his behavior regarding the breaking of the ‘code of dressing room silence’ and the revelation of secrets in his book ‘My Autobiography’. Laudrup believes that there is an unwritten belief in the game that ‘what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room’, but Ferguson has not respected that rule and has revealed quite a lot of secrets of the past in his book. "I think that when you are part of a football team it is group," said Laudrup. "That means the players and the staff, including the manager and all that administration. "You are a group and the bigger things from the outside always try to come in, and as a manager you always say 'okay we have to try to be a group' and then suddenly a few years later things about that come out in books or in interviews. "People sometimes start to talk about what happened there, and what people said. You think at that time everyone agreed they were all a group and you see so many times people coming out saying what happened and what he did. "I wouldn't do it, so don’t expect me in five or 10 years time to write a book. People are always saying what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room."
Quite right too. He doesn't think Gerrard is a top player then, the man has lost the plot. If I was a Man Utd fan I'd be embarrassed
ML is spot on. I admire Ferguson's achievements as a manager but he lacks class and dignity. The way he banned certain journalists who asked uncomfortable questions was shocking. Had it been anyone else they would have been disciplined by the FA. The guy always got away with murder and he had the FA in his pocket. Well done Laudrup!
World of difference in the characters of Laudrup and Ferguson and ML ha got this spot on. I didn't know that he'd said that about Gerrard and I disagree, Gerrard is an exceptional player
Gerrard is oe of the most gifted midfielders of his generation imo. His record speaks for itself. He almost single handedly kept Liverpool afloat a few seasons back and not many players could have done that. Way past his best now of course but it makes you wonder what SAF is on about. I suppose he prefers Tom Cleverley? It just smacks of a cheap shot at a Liverpool legend to be honest.
what next, lecturing fergie on loyalty to clubs? who the hell does he think he is. fergie is on a different planet to laudrup managerially. i'm sure like me fergie is chuckling away at this garbage from a manager who would do well to have a career with 1% of the success of fergie......
Fcuk me you're thick!! Read it again, it's got nothing to do with the success of a manager, but Fergie breaking the unwritten code that all managers follow, what happens in the changing room stays in the changing room. Just like the saying 'what happens on tour stays on tour'
Laudrup knows exactly what he is talking about, he has been in enough dressing rooms, some of the biggest in the world, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, Ajax, ya know the big clubs, with the big players and big ego's involved, to know what happens in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room, only ignorant people think about the managerial side of it alone. As a manager there is no better than Fergie, but as a player, and seeing things from that side of it, Fergie hasn't got a pissing clue. I mean Scottish football, lol.
I was just about to post something similar,KDA. You are being very kind to him by describing him as being "thick". If a similar post appeared on the Cardiff Forum, their mods would remove it,and ban the author. Perhaps our mods should consider removing post No.8.
Nah leave it there just proves how inadequate his intelligence is, and yes maybe I was a little too kind but I would only be wasting my breath (fingers on keyboard) as swamp would clearly not have the aptitude to understand other terms.
"Inadequate",yes,I like that description of him. There's lot of "inadequate's" where he comes from,so he never gets lonely.
First of all Swamp doesn't understand the difference between "weaker sides in the Division" and "weak opposition" (see his hilarious thread on the Cardiff board) and now he's having trouble with the rather simple concept of Laudrup criticising SAF on a rather narrow issue. Apparently, Swamp is a student and has been revising hard so maybe he's a bit frazzled. Must say I don't hold out much hope for his results though do you?
**** me , swamp is finally brave enough to show up on "the weaker" teams board and give an opinion about something...
Swamp is a student eh ? that explains so much ! didn't realise his childish behaviour was because he actually was a child!... no doubt he has only followed redbirds since they've been decent aswell, probably got his Chelsea shirt in storage for when the blobs implode
As someone else pointed out recently wasn't numbnuts Hughs a student as well? **** me - makes you worry about the future of this country. Yet more proof that education has been dumbed down.
