Is it just me who feels happier now After a win which we all craved, And not just because Hughton C. can still crow That his job, for a while, is still saved Eight days to go till our next game appears They´ll be a lot easier to wait, For players and fans, and allay any fears That we´re in an irreparable state Five points better off than those in eighteenth place In my book, means they must win two, While we pick up nowt, to cause an about-face Which is not always easy to do But most importantly I thought, Saturday ´Twixt players and boss, we could see, Everyone pulling in just the same way With no signs of disharmony So any rumours of a lost dressing room Seem far-fetched and wide of the mark, And returning players should be a big boon On the training ground and on the park Tettey particularly, I´d like to see Back in amongst the starting men, If he can rediscover quite rapidly His pre-injury form again And Pilks, if he only could stay fit a while Would give us a dimension more, There is something about his attacking style That encourages a Barclay roar And although we´re not scoring a hatful yet The attempts are mounting up well, Just improve the quality, and we might get Into quite a productive spell With Newcastle next to find themselves our way It would be an ironic twist, If we could conjure up this year´s best display To remind them of just what they´ve missed. The first Monday in ages I've enjoyed! I know we can't try in our next match but I'm hoping Jonas G can keep the left wing slot and Pilks can fill the hole behind the strikers, I'm sure he could do a job there especially as he is two-footed!
Dave - Think I´d prefer to see Fer pushing on, with Tettey in behind, and let Jonas and Pilks fight it out on the left flank.
You put it more poetically than the BBC's quotes of Bennett's post-game comments, and it still amazes me that a certain section of 'fans' seem to think their agenda is more important than the club's future. Well done, mate!
Rick - I thought Steve Bruce made a very salient point in defence of Chris Hughton after the game Saturday, when he said that the first year you get promoted, fans are quite happy just to survive, but as soon as you´ve been there even 3 years, some fans expect you to be in the top 6, which is ludicrous, unless you happen to be Chelsea, Arsenal or Man C of course, but then they would hardly be down in the Championship to begin with.
What a load of bollocks. Those are fans of teams who have spent 100m, not fans of clubs like ours. Nobody at Carrow Rd expects a top 6 finish.
