I know not everyone checks my "Ask Princess" thread and it seems pointless to keep creating a new thread every time a new foal is born. There are now 3 confirmed on the ground: A colt out of Chrysanthemum (no pictures yet released) A filly out of Song A filly out of Danedream Pictures to follow below.
Sorry, I'm on my iPad and can't put up the photo. Link here She was born last night and Danedream will visit Frankel again before heading to her owner's stud in Japan.
According to some people the picture is not of the filly, but of Danedream herself as a foal! Either way a filly was born last night!
It was on the Telegraph website a couple of days ago (only discovered it today). I'll leave it to PN to post a photo as I suspect she will have a better one!
I've only got the Telegraph one at the moment: here. Also they've released an actual picture of Danedream and her daughter: here.
And another one! A colt out of Compelling was born in the USA on 18 Jan but they've only just released details. Picture here. So far they're all bay with large white facial markings, it'll be interesting to see if he stamps them all the same!
Breaking news, Midday foaled a filly by Frankel on 1st February. Juddmonte have released a video of the filly's birth:
I'm sure there are others on the ground, but the studs are playing it safe and not releasing details until they are 100% happy that the foals are ok.
From Racing Post: "The filly, who weighed in at 132lbs, is highly rated by stud manager Simon Mockridge, whose report from the foaling reads: "Attractive, quality filly. Has size and scope. Deep girthed, broad hips, strong quartered. Good bone. Strong hind leg. Very good foal." Midday was trained by Sir Henry Cecil for her owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah to win nine of her 23 starts, including the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf and three renewals of the Nassau Stakes. The eight-year-old daughter of Oasis Dream produced her first foal, a colt by Frankel's sire Galileo, last year. Juddmonte Farms general manager Philip Mitchell said: "Obviously this was a much anticipated foaling. We are very pleased with the foal - Midday is an excellent mother and both she and the filly are very well. "We have had many people contact us regarding Midday and her Frankel foal, and would be interested to hear any naming suggestions from members of the public." Midday will be covered by Frankel again this year."
I had an interesting dinner last night where it was confirmed that there are a few other Frankel foals in Newmarket but the owners are not going public with them. Unfortunately I couldn't get any names of the dams!
Hello all, I'm still here! A new foal to report: A colt out of Balance, a G1 winning half-sister to Zenyatta, born at Mill Ridge Farm in Kentucky.
