Well Im not sure if this is O/T or not but QPR are involved so I'll leave it to your decision.

As the (winter) Olympics are starting, i was on you tube watching Olympic gold medal Performances.
Ussain bolt in 2012, Ben Johnson in "that race', the American Basketball team v the Russians and who could forget the one and only Steven Bradbury..i just love watching that..

Anyway, in one of the clips somewhere along the line the commentator (Coleman i think) stated, this is the hottest ticket in world sport on the planet...i think he was at the mens 100m final in London 2012.

So here's the thing, was he correct? What would you say was the hottest ticket on the planet...

    1. Mens 100m Olympic final

2.Penalty Shoot Out in world Cup Final (not including the game)

    3. QPR V Real champions league final <laugh>

    4. Wimbledons Mens final?

    5. Stanley Cup final

    6. Fifth Test decider at lords for the Ashes....?

    7. NBA Play off Finals?

    8. Monaco grand Prix?

    9. UFC World heavyweight title fight? - don't laugh until you've checked the fastest growing sport on the planet!

    10. Old firm derby?

    11. Man Utd v Man city

    12. Americas Cup homecoming

    13. That golf thing that people find interesting???

And im sure here must be a womens sport that has something intresting going on?..Gymnastics or dance or something...:bandit:

Personally id go with no.3 followed closely by No.1..Im also a big fan of the 4 x 100m relay.

Any other suggestions as to what the "Hottest Sporting Ticket on the Planet " may be?

Actually an interesting question. Of course the answer is entirely determined by what sport drives your passions.

So, for me, the answer is:

    1) World Cup penalties
    2) Men's 100m Olympic final
    3) QPR v Real. Fantasy entry sadly.

This would be it for me, but alas Lords is usually one of the first two tests and whilst the Oval is ok, it's not as inspiring as the home of cricket.... and that comes from someone who has played at Lords, and cheered on an England ashes test victory in Sydney albeit from the pavilion.

I was in Vegas in '91 to see Tyson v Holyfield only to see it get called off due to a Tyson injury. I would love to see a 'Heavyweight Title Bout' but it doesn't seem to have the characters or the same credence nowadays. I've been fortunate to attend two Champions League Finals, a Men's Wimbledon Tennis Final and a final days Ashes test at Lord's. I also had tickets to attend a 'Grand Prix at Silverstone but couldn't get up due to the events of the night before. ( 1996? )
I was also at the World Matchplay Golf at Wentworth where I saw Faldo beat Woosnam, but the highlight of that day was when I witnessed the enigmatic Seve Ballesteros play in the third place play-off. What a man! What a true sporting legend that I'm so grateful to have had the pleasure of seeing in real life. Even if you don't like golf I urge you to go and watch it, it's incredible to watch this human skill and endeavour with your own eyes.
Having said all that, I think going to a World Cup Final would still be the hottest ticket in town for me personally.
