It´s hard to know just what to feel about Wes
    Regarding his goal-scoring scowl,
    And almost impossible to second-guess
    What was a self-inflicted foul

For he doesn´t usually stand Balotelli-like
    Showing no emotion at all,
After scoring what was a peach of a strike
He should have felt like walking tall

Outwardly Hughton is keeping quite mute
Probably the best course to take,
I´m sure, not wanting to add to the dispute
    For general harmony´s sake

But he will know, as will the players as well
If Wes´s heart is at the club,
And if it isn´t, rest assured, his spell
From now will be at best, as sub

Shame, because he was both shoulders and head
    Above everyone on Sunday,
Making defenders not know where to tread
Some of the best I´ve seen him play

But if that was just to impress PL
    With regards to future employ,
All he´s done is sounded his own death knell
    In a disrespectful, childish ploy.

    Good read RBF.

The whole thing just makes me feel sad.

Yep, me too, very strange behaviour and totally out of character, but, as with McNally´s tears the other day, we can´t know if there was possibly another reason.

Well said sir, I think carrabuh's thread on the subject may be a little bit harsh, but in the cold light of day it's very difficult to put a positive spin on it!

I was wondering if it was more of a "**** you Hughton, this is why I should be playing" than anything actually to do with Villa

That is also possible Bath, I really do hope so, and is far preferable to the other, because playing like that, Hughton could hardly leave him out.

This is for you Wesley Hoolaghan,
    Fallen hero, odious little man,
For your disrespect for my beloved City
I felt the urge to write this ditty

We paid for you houses and your cars,
    you were a pint-sized superstar
From Hall of Fame to Wall of Shame
You've only got yourself to blame

You've turned your coat and lifted your shirt
for that arch Judas, Paul Lambert

When you're on your knees and kissing his ring
I hope you'll hear the Holte End sing
For you'll never hear the Barclay roar
Now we know you're Lamberts Whore

So I hope you rot in the our reserves
It is the least that you deserve
    and come June through September
you'll have no contract and then remember
that because you tried to get villa's pieces of gold
down the river you've been sold

    Apologies to RBF!

No apologies necessary bhoy, I can understand if some people are very upset about it, and not that there´s much chance, but I would just like to know what, if anything, was really behind it.

I'm a bit ashamed of the way he didn't celebrate but all this vitriole about how he can go and rot and is no longer a legend at this club is a completely over the top reaction. We don't even know the real reason yet all of a sudden Wes is worse that Roeder, Muscat and Joey Barton compined. It just seems very unnecessary.

It doesn't matter what the reason is, its irrelevent.

He's playing for NCFC, not McNally, Hughton, Lambert or Villa.

What he has done is contributed to destabalising the club, heaping more unnecessary bad news around the team, putting Hughton into a very awkward position and challenging the fans to force him out.

If he's in the squad I hope the whole stadium boos him when he warms up and when his name is mentioned just to make it clear to him how moronic he has been.

For me one very stupid and devicive moment doesn't undo the 3 season in which he was pivotal. Both Holt and Lambert have caused constination since they left but they are still legends, as is Wes. Just my opinion.

And I'll never boo a player or manager that represents our club. I think that will be more disruptive than what Wes did.
