In case any Hull fans here have not seen it, there's a fascinating interview with Raich Carter junior, exploring the family's Hull and Sunderland roots and links at http://salutsunderland.com/2014/03/...e-you-raich-carter-juniors-divided-loyalties/ I realise it'll be familiar ground for some but am sure others will enjoy the reminiscences.
"John Lloyd" locked us out?! Must have been embittered by the divorce from Chrissie. Good to see RC Jnr is still a committed regular.
He's one of our own. Like his attitude to modern football. Everything is pretty much spot on. Cheers for the link. Good little site Salut Sunderland. Enjoyed reading the other pre match build up before the League matches.
I knew Raich jr throughout school - top bloke with a very amusing sense of humour - it comes shining through in the interview
Cheers for this a really good read, I worked with Raich seniors 2nd wife Pat, what a nice lady she is.
May be starting to push it a bit on opposition pages but I have mentioned it again at ESPN ... http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/sunderland/id/2924?cc=5739 It would be great to have more banter from Hull fans at the original Salut! Sunderland posting (link above in the originating post for this thread. I have added a link to these not606 pages from my Guess the Score item. Don't bother with that unless you really want to - there's no prize this week
Yeah, he taught French there. My classroom was next door to his for a year or two. The walls were plastered with City-related stuff; not much French in evidence!
Nice looking young lad...Raich Jnr. His dad was a handsome devil...the Silver Fox. Best City player ever IMO and THE hero of my youth. Great days!!
Nowhere else for people to air their dirty laundry in public since they put a stop to The Jeremy Kyle Show.
If you type 'Hull City' into the search bit on the Salute site you may come across an interview with a City fan written before a league game in the PL with Sunderland. The same fan who introduced Raich junior to the Salute admin.by the way. Amazing insight from the City fan, especially the 'cardboard cut-outs in the stands' reference which actually became a reality last season. He'd be shouted down on here with some of the views expressed in that interview and probably be called a 'super fan'. The article from the chair of the OSC is also a good piece. Any one know if she is still involved ?
Yes, Kathryn is still the chair of the OSC. She works hard for the OSC and raising money for the charities they support. She ran both charity quizzes all through lockdown when it was possible to do so and on Zoom when the pubs were closed. I hope she gets an “ Acun golden ticket” for Turkey because I would think few deserve it more.
