Just back and I've not started to read the match day thread yet, but I am intrigued as to who you all think was Man of the Match. As far as I'm concerned there is no stand out candidate. I've included Barton just for Sku who will believe that his man was pulling the strings from wherever he was, and would have included Mackie had there been room as I was really pleased to see him.
Sky giving it to Morrison was a bit of joke imo. I'm torn between Yossi and Carroll, but as Tom had a hand in 3 of the goals and played very well throughput, I gave it to him.
I went for Morsison, who I believe came in as a late replacement for Morrison. As you can see Col, I like a bit of a joke.
Carroll although Morrison ran him close, could this be Carroll's coming of age? Benayoun actually looked like a proper player today instead of one who's leaving in the summer.
To be fair I didn't think there was one stand-out performance, Col, but there were a handful of good ones including Morrison, Carroll, Hoilett (who looked up for it), Benayoun and (controversially) Green. Onuoha's goal aside, I thought both he and Dunne had 'mares and the Back Four as a whole were disappointing. It would be wonderful if the Rs are the form team heading into the play-offs, but a glance at the league table this evening, whilst considering the points squandered in the three preceding games, shows how close we could have run Burnley, particularly with them having a bit of a wobble themselves now.
Good to have met you at half time Col. Tom Carroll for me. I thought his passing in the second half was really good & his left footed reverse pass to the right wing was superb.
Hopefully this bodes well for the play-offs, I mean players that have not been too impressive so far stepping up a gear. I am feeling a lot more positive about our chances of getting up now.
Good to meet you too mate. I don't think any of us saw that coming at half time eh? Agreed on Carroll, he was consistently good throughout imo.
I hope Carroll has this thread brought to his attention, to balance out the cretins in the crowd who have given him grief.
So do I. It's either him or Hoilett who get it from these morons. Carroll showed real class today and Hoilett always tries to go forward and make things happen.
Difficult Carroll, Yossi, Morrison Green all played well, but from my laptop i thought Henry had a calming influence in front of the back four, the defence looked ok apart from defending corners, so Henry for me....
