... that a win for us Saturday (very difficult) and a defeat for Cardiff (unlikely given how gash Toon are) would send Cardiff down? Business end of the season or what? Even a draw for us and Toon victory would make it very unlikely that Cardiff could escape relegation, as they'd need to beat Chelsea by something like 17+ goals and we'd have to lose our last two games. Of course they could always just beat Toon by 15+ goals!
Yeah, but one down... I was just feeling sorry for Cardiff, although after Saturday's toothless performance, you really have to ask if they deserve to stay up anyway?
Actually, it's the same for Fulham. If they lose and we win then they're also down. If Norwich lose and we win, then Norwich would have to beat Arsenal and we'd have to lose our remaining two games. How important could beating ManU & everyone else losing be?
If the bottom three lose and we win we are safe...I would settle for that, although it never happens for us that way..
Even if we lose to ManU, then all of the above still applies to the West Brom game on Wednesday! Mad to think that we could be safe a week from now!
Mad to think, that we can even be thinking about it, seeing as a few weeks ago, it seemed like Mordor was calling.
I'd given up mate, even to the point I'd started planning Blackpool away! We're not there yet, but I honestly don't see us ****ing it.
it would be a travisty if we threw it away now. we have been in the bottom 3 most of the season to finally get out and still end up down would be heartbreaking. then again we are sunderland and never make things easy for ourselves
Man U will be playing with their tails up after thrashing Norwich. I'd take the draw now if it was being offered.
Me too, but who'd had ever predicted that the points needed to give ourselves withing the chance would have come from our last three games, cardiff maybe but not the other. I also still obtained a season ticket telling reminding my self of some of the great seasons we've had in the championship. Chuffed to bits the my loyalty to the club and not the league is going to lead me to seeing Sunderland play week in week out in the premier league.
We have already beaten them once this season , I know it was at home but we went close at OT as well. The way we have been playing in the last few games, I wouldnt be suprised.
Even if we went now, least we put up a fight. We won't, I just hope lessons are learned, cos this is the closest we've come, we've had last days when we could have went down, but it was never really a possibility. This was very, very real.
