So it looks like that maybe Coventry could be kicked out of the Football League if the above is correct.
That would mean Tranmere who has been relegated to League 2 would be reinstated back to League 1 in Coventrys place.
We would be reinstated to League 2 so Coventry would take our place in the Conference Prem.
Also if Wycombe get points deducted they would also stay in League 2, unless they get 6 points or more deducted which means they will fall below Torquay and Torquay will instead stay up!

Looks like the Football League has a lot of work to do!!

The club has moved to reassure fans in a statement issued to the press over the weekend....

Coventry City Football Club issued a statement to the press regarding payment to ACL over the weekend.

    Here it is in full...

We would like once again to reassure fans that the Club will honour its obligation to the Football League. It is totally wrong to suggest otherwise. We have undertaken to the League to pay ACL the amount that is legally owed to them.

ACL rejected this payment, which they could have received last summer, in order to start a liquidation process and cause a points deduction. So the only person who can determine the correct amount to be paid is the liquidator.

As instructed by the League, the Club has already paid a large sum of money into an escrow account, ready for payment to ACL as soon as the correct number has been calculated.

There is some uncertainty as to the correct amount because it appears that ACL may already have been paid monies under personal guarantees, which amounted to £500,000. If this is the case, there is a risk that they might be paid twice over. As soon as this uncertainty is resolved, the correct sum can be determined and released to ACL from the escrow account.

    Cheers Gas <ok>

I know im clutching at straws with this next comment but....

Surely the deadline has passed. They havent yet paid what is owed even if they have the money waiting in another account.

How much time have thay already had to get the correct amount?
And what have they done to chase the correct amount?

Think they are taking the buscuit me thinks <whistle>

Hope Coventry don't get kicked out. There's better ways of avoiding relegation - like doing the business on the pitch.

Their fans have suffered enough anyway.

An update taken from another forum....

If on 30th June get get kicked out of the football league as previously reported, surely that would be too late for any changes like Tranmere being reinstated back to league 1 to replace Coventry and us get reinstated back to league 2 to replace Tranmere. Surely too late meaning league 1 could be just 23 teams next season? Or will they reinstate teams to fill the gaps??

Their was only 23 teams in the old 4th division if I remember rightly after Aldershot were kicked out so this would mean going some weeks without a game

If this was the case, would there be 2 down from League 2 and 3 up from the Conference next season or 1 down and two up? Hopefully the former, more likely the latter with Wycombe beating the odds once again
