Watch out now for the bleating RS clamouring it was a totally worthless and meaningless friendly <laugh>
 
It was nice, but it was still a friendly. (with Liverpool playing a full 1st team)

The real stuff starts on the 16th, so winning all the friendlies was good for moral, and Liverpool who just cant buy any siverware will go into the new season with tail between their legs.

Just a friendly - against the RS ? Are you out of your mind? <whistle>

The RS were desperate for a win and would have been disappointed for giving us a big morale boost <ok>
 
Been saying all along that these matches have no meaning whatsoever. The only pluses are no one got injured, 1 million dollars, and a touch of one upmanship over Brenda's Brigade.

Wasnt it a sell out of over 100,000? If so, what happened to the missing 40, 000?

Just watched the highlights. Even allowing for the fact that this was a friendly, if you look at all 3 United goals, the Liverpool defence was an absolute shambles. No one any where near the scorers, pretty pathetic defending. Alan Hansen would have been in tears watching that.
 
Someone moaned about Rooney putting the ball in the net when it had gone out of play but if that was at the other end they would be ok with it then.

How did we guess that the RS would say that? Without the world class rat they were totally toothless in the second half when United turn up the pressure...

They may be friendlies but they give an idea of the weaknesses and strengths of teams...
